Hey everyone! Hope you guys are having a great day! Welcome to Topic Tuesday! Today's question is what is the main concern/ challenge for individuals starting their own business? I would love to hear everyone's input on this!
I believe initially learning and understanding requirements for business licenses for state/county/city, tax expectations for the business/personal/employee payroll/quarterly, etc, and learning to break out of the old model of paying bills first instead of yourself.
The portion of my story that I share will vary based on the audience I am addressing, however, for this 168 specifically... Story: Meet Dr. Megan D. Stinson PT, DPT, a remarkable physical therapist who has experienced a transformative journey from burnout and adversity to building a thriving cash-based practice. Driven by a passion for serving others, Dr. Stinson's story is one of resilience, determination, and the pursuit of a fulfilling career. After facing multiple health issues including two strokes, a spinal cord surgery, and burnout, Dr. Stinson found herself at a crossroads in her career. As a devoted mother to two special needs children, she desired a better work-life balance and financial stability. Despite running a 1 million revenue-generating business, she realized that she wasn't taking home a paycheck and contemplated leaving the field of physical therapy altogether. Even a six-figure salary (which she did make once selling her practice to a larger conglomerate), wouldn't be enough compensation for the time she had already lost and continued to lose. But Dr. Stinson's love for her profession and unwavering commitment to helping patients kept her searching for a better path. She embarked on a mission to transition from insurance-based practice to a cash-based model, where she could deliver the highest level of care without the constraints of third-party reimbursement. Through years of perseverance and a deep desire to make a difference, Dr. Stinson built a successful cash-based practice that thrives on personalized, quality care. Drawing from her own experiences, she understands the frustrations and challenges faced by fellow professionals seeking to make a similar transition. This led her to create an online program specifically designed to guide and support practitioners on their journey to building their own cash-based practices. Dr. Stinson's expertise extends across a wide range of areas, including acute care, home health care, school systems, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehab, outpatient clinics, and sports medicine. She excels in treating individuals of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, with a focus on daily living and functional life skills. Her exceptional skills in assisting adults after strokes, orthopedic surgeries, with ehlers-danlos syndrome, complex medical and neurological issues, and athletes seeking better performance make her the go-to professional for those who have struggled to find the right mix of care elsewhere.
