3 steps to a great cold call
We all know cold calling sucks. But if you do great calls you can make it amazing. So let's break it down. Making great cold calls can be overwhelming. From nailing the right tonality to knowing your prospect's pains. There is a lot that goes into it. And you're under immense time pressure. But it's still the best way to book a meeting. So let's get into a few tips to get you booking meetings through the phone: 1 - Follow a framework You need a simple recipe, on how to approach every call. You should know each stage. And how to go from the intro to the closing. Having a system will allow you to not have awkward stumbles on every call. So make sure to follow a framework. It can be as simple as the phases and a couple of cues mapped out. Or a full-on script. 2 - Tonality Over the phone, they can't see our body language. But they do hear your voice, which carries your energy. Some say they can hear when someone smiles. So on a call, all you have is your tonality to work with. It's not just what you say, it's how you say it that matters. You can come across as aggressive, rude, or even submissive if you have the wrong tonality. One technique is to mirror your prospects. If they have a lot of energy, match that. If they are more reserved come down to their level. Meet your prospects at whatever level they are at. 3 - Focus on the long game When calling you'll be rejected A LOT. Better learn to enjoy it. Treat it as a game and every no is getting you closer to that next yes. Don't focus on the end outcome. Just make sure you are putting in consistent effort. And that's it. Cold Calling isn't rocket science it just requires a lot of persistence and resilience. By just picking up the phone you are already doing more than most. Now you can learn how to master the phone through trial and error. You can make thousands of dials and face a ton of rejection to get a formula. Or you can learn from someone who's been there to help you fast-track your learning.

How I’m using SalesNav to start my GTM motion at Outbound OS
SalesNav can be a great tool if you use it to its full capacity. Here is how I’m currently using it. TL;DR 1) Set up the personas - different people care about different things 2) Build lists with triggers - always have a clear reason to reach out 3) Use lead lists - save people to lists so you can track who’s accepted and which ones are performing the best 4) Get their data - use your favorite tool to extract the prospect's emails & phone numbers 5) Put them in specific sequences - the more specific you can make the sequence the better And that is it! Don’t overcomplicate it, just put relevant messaging in front of the right people Let me know what you all want to see next!

The amount of free value within the community is crazy, loving these daily tips! Any chance of you dropping some cold caling knowledge? Thanks Aaron.
Are mentors necessary?
I’m currently interviewing for a new SDR role at the moment. There’s been a lot of ups and downs, but fortunately have a final round scheduled this week. I’m excited to join this community to network & really focus in on my skills. Curious to know you guys’ thoughts having a mentor and any of your experiences with one? Michael.

Cold call opener
Is it normal to get tons of permission based openers rejected?

Tonality is so important!! There actually was a study which outlined that, What you say is 7% Tonality is 28% And surprisingly, body language is 55% (However on a cold call I assume body language is less important)
LinkedIn Outreach
What openers work best for you guys? I understand that the content differs industry wise, but do you just pitch slap in the first message with a hook that works, or stick to greetings and intros initially and then get to the point after a couple of days and a little to and fro?
