Feedback Friday Aug 30 AEST Thread
Let's get hyped for our Feedback Friday which is me giving feedback to our community's posts live on stream! TO GET FEEDBACK: - If you don’t have a video you can ask a question in your comment. - Post a link to your video in a comment on this thread - If you don't know to share a video CLICK THIS LINK (You upload your video as unlisted video on youtube and share the link) - In your comment please state what area of help you're after, the more specific the better. - Do not make your videos longer than 2 mins. - Do not explain in your video I'll skip it and go straight to the playing. - I will watch videos by levels starting from highest to lowest: All level 4 students first, all level 3, etc. - To gain levels engage in the community with posts and comments, every like on your comments/posts gets you a point and points get you levels, it's a video game. - Refrain from offering feedback to others, only show support and encouragement. See y’all tomorrow!

@Kaleb Blankenship I have this question too. My left hand has a really bad angle and my grip leads to fatigue and cramps
What’s everyone practicing this week?
Leading up to feedback Friday, what are you jamming on? I’ve got a party show coming up so I’m learning sex is on fire and I will wait for you!

Lots of reggae music. West coast of Florida I joined a reggae band, and playing on the up beat and singing on the downbeat is not easy 🥵
Two live gigs lined up!
Today I formally lined up two live gigs in two different venues. First one is mid-September at a restaurant for one hour of playing. Second one is at a bar in mid-October for about 2 hours of playing. Very different types of gigs. Restaurant is meant to be background music and the bar to get people to sing and be engaged. Getting close to the song lists I need. But will need these coming weeks to really lock it down. Very psyched!

Beautiful!
In ears for live gigs
I have quite a few notifications to reply to and acknowledge! I’ve been out of town with my daughter, and then I had quite a few gigs back to back. I love scrolling through here and seeing what everybody’s doing. Should be able to engage more this week But I just wanted to bring up a topic of monitoring your mix for a live gig. Today was the first time I used in ear monitors and I really noticed an improvement in my energy management because I could really hear myself. I was able to play at a controlled pace and a controlled volume and even when I wanted to have more energy in the song, I was able to turn up the volume without feedback because my monitors were not even near my guitar or my microphone. I wasn’t exerting myself too much because I could really hear everything I was playing. @Luan Krasniqi what is your preference for live music when it comes to monitors?

@Luan Krasniqi I am going to use an audience mic and send it to my aux, not the house. I have a gig in a very rowdy dive bar this Friday. I’ll let you know how it goes lol

@Luan Krasniqi okay, 3rd gig with the in ears. Pros 1. Perfect mix in my ears 2. Low volume with isolation means hearing protection 3. More relaxed feel (for me at least) 4. More accurate vocals due to improved hearing 5. Playing with a click was a game-changer Cons or obstacles 1. getting the audience mic in my mix was a challenge but not impossible and I want to have more control of Lee that and be able to adjust it on the fly 2. Feeling tethered unless I invest in an advanced wireless set up which I won’t do for a while 3. Long gigs can come with ear fatigue so managing volume is important and take them out when possible
