Is Skool Designed To Replace A Newsletter Type Platform?
Is Skool currently designed with the intention of replacing the need for a newsletter/email platform? Or is the email feature designed to keep the community engaged?

@Quinn Nolan could be but I don't think it's part of the use case. It's just limited email blasts.
New feature: Calendar event permissions (+ more)
Now you can set access permissions for your events, just like courses. You can make events accessible to members at a level, or members with a course. You can set a cover image to personalize your events, and specify the link/address separate from the description so it shows/hides depending on the member's access. We renamed the "Calendar" tab to "Events" because it's the events that are important, and this new UI emphasizes the events instead of empty white space. We added a cool "LIVE" indicator too! Watch this video to see how this new feature works, and let us know what you think?

@Sam Ovens love this AND I have a request for mobile. It would be cool if we had the option to add a square cover image for mobile, or make the mobile image the same ratio as it shows on desktop. A minor "nice to have"!

@Sam Ovens hey bud I'm not sure if this is possible but it would be nice to be able to zoom in to photos that are posted. Here's a video showing what I mean. (I can't zoom in on mobile to see what's written on the roadmap.)
New features: Action posts + Pin post to module
Sometimes you want your members to take action. For example: Introduce yourself and share a photo of your workspace, or... Play this song on the guitar and share a video of you doing it. Simple actions make your community more interactive and fun. Remember the ice bucket challenge? Action posts — Describe the action you want your members to complete. When somebody comments, the action will be marked as complete. Pinning posts to modules — Now you can pin posts to course modules to make them more practical and interactive. For example: Your first module could be "Welcome! Start here" and give a quick overview of how things work with a call to action at the end to introduce themself and share a photo. You can pin any post to a module, it doesn't have to be an action post. You could pin posts relevant to the module, or a post with the title: "Module XYZ - Questions/discussion here" and use it as a comments section. Your turn: Complete this action by telling us what you think?

@Sam Ovens This is a great improvement to skool. One slight thing I noticed that could be more useful is to make the "select module" modal on the "pin post to module" feature a dropdown with our courses and modules in a list instead of a search and type box. This require us to know the name of our module ahead of time. Not huge deal but would be more convenient.

My Free Group Engagement Sucks
Hi everyone, I've been struggling to build ANY engagement other than people introducing themselves. Once they post that first comment they disappear. It's a free group funnel to nurture leads and transition into my paid program. Here's what I've done so far: - Seeded the group (start here/welcome video post/introduce yourself) - Included a high value free mini course - Added 120 members from my warm list - Regularly post content every few days (YouTube videos and written text) 1/week is sent as an email - Host free webinars - Created polls asking questions I rarely post a CTA to book a call. Despite all of this, engagement is DEAD (almost non existent). Any suggestions on how to turn things around?

Imagine you're throwing a party, man. You just brought 120 people who are complete strangers (with each other) into your house, you set out a bowl of chips and put on a classic party playlist, then pulled a chair into the corner to sit and watch what happens. That party's a dud bro bro. What can you do to make it fun and exciting to be there? What can they get in your group that they can't get on YT, FB, or elsewhere? What's their incentive for staying and engaging?
