good morning, this is an off week from swimming I took the week off to do some things. My last time at the pool was practicing the back float. I can front float but keep sinking on the back float. I know I’m too tense and my head is not enough in the water. Reminding my self to look at the ceiling. I will keep trying when I’m back next week.
Swimming in shallow water workbook
Coach Jeff how can I get the workbook of least swim in shallow water. I already joined the community and paid fee. Thanks for letting me know how to access my complimentary copy.

Help with coming up for a breath
Hi coaches Jeff and Meredith Yesterday I had a swim practice I was able for the first time to glide several yards without a breath for 7 seconds. For me that felt good. I need more practice coming up for a breath. I tried front and side but always end up standing up due to sinking legs. I will watch the video again but any suggestions from you? I am a very slow beginner and start my 1on1 class till January.

@Jeff Wood no videos or photos are allowed at the pool where I practice. I’m doing the pulling where I bring my arms out and to the side. Next practice I will try the coming up for a breathe without standing. I’m more comfortable with front breathing than side. I actually look forward to going to swimming now before I would have anxiety days before and also at the pool. Your feedback helps me.

Hi Coach Jeff, I am going over the shallow water mastery course now. I don’t start 1on1 lessons again till January but meanwhile I’m practicing at the gym swimming pool 2 or 3 times a week. The techniques you give in the video will help me a lot as I am always tense when entering the water and putting my face in. I’m watching the video step by step and will practice each technique one by one. Also, I plan on enrolling to join the paid community ASAP. When I joined yesterday I was surprised that it was free. I appreciate your encouragement thank you so much.

Thanks for welcoming me. I am retired and recently started group swimming lessons. It was a disaster and I stopped after 2 lessons. I signed up for one on one but after 3 lessons still have trouble gliding and breathing properly to stay aloft. I’m practicing at the pool often but always end up walking not swimming. My legs sink. I’ve watched your videos and will go tomorrow and try your techniques. I like your teaching style. My instructor does not even go into the pool with me during lessons. I was about to give up but I saw your utube videos and will try again. Thank you.

I’m over 65 and I’m recently retired and signed up for swim lessons with a group but quit because I was not keeping up with the group.
