Url link for public vs private
I noticed that before and maybe there was a bug , but as of now when you click on skool.com/*yoururl* if it's a public group, it takes you to the main page with all the comments, which is alright I guess... but for people who Don't know skool at all, especially who clicked for specific group and they see a whole bunch of posts off topic sometimes , it is confusing. VS when a person lands on About page( same link for private group) then it feels like you're on step 1 and depending what the on-boarding process is, it's easier to navigate to join the group. Before, for private groups the same url would take a person to About page, not letting you see the content other than the offer . I think it's way better ( considering a person who is new to skool) . So when we leave links , it's not a biggie to just add /About at the end, but then it doesn't look as clean . Maybe I'm just osd about it, but what do you think? Wouldn't it be better if the same link for both types of groups landed on About page?

Yep, I agree. Public groups should redirect to the About page. The community tab is too chaotic for a new user to see.
Skool vs School
This post is not anti-school. But it will make a case for Skool. (Yes that's debt in the screenshot, not me flexing! 🤣) Let me explain. I've spent over 60% of my life in school. School til 18, University til 24, Accounting exams for another 18 months. It's been a lot. That’s a lot of time in classrooms, exams, and textbooks. And don’t get me wrong—formal education has its value. It laid a foundation for who I am today. It allowed me to become a chartered accountant, quit my job, and move to Bali. But... Learning something from a textbook is one thing. Doing it is another. I spent 5.5 years studying accounting and finance, 1.5 while working full-time. Guess what? I learned more in the 1.5 years working and studying than I did in the previous 4. Why? Because I was actually doing it... Doing the thing is much better than studying the thing. That's how you learn. And that’s where Skool comes in. I joined Skool a little over three months ago, and the experience has been transformational. Here’s why: - Skool is filled with people actively doing. - Communities of like-minded individuals, all working toward similar goals. - IT DOESN"T COST £9,000 PER YEAR (Side note: £50k debt sat on my head to become an accountant - not including the £10k exams my company paid for) The best part? It’s not just about learning—it’s about growing with others. We are all heading towards a similar goal. Some people are further ahead, and some people are just getting started. It's inspiring to see people ahead of you, it lays the path of what is possible. We are all early. And $99/ month sounds a lot better than the £50k debt that you get for a formal education in the UK. The system is broken. Skool is the solution. It opens up doors that never existed before. The lesson? You don’t need a classroom to learn. All you need is a laptop, wifi and a desire to be better than yesterday! What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from doing, not studying? Let’s share in the comments below 👇

Nice post, I totally agree. I can understand something by "studying" it, but only truly learn it by doing it. There's just a higher level of muscle memory and confidence that comes with real world physical practice.

@Liam Sheridan For sure!
Why did I lose my flame 😫?
I have been diligent about being active on Skool every day. I belong to many communities. My flame 🔥 is suddenly gone. Could someone please 🙏 explain why? @Sam Ovens

You Won't Believe Which Holi-"day" Beats Black Friday Sales? 🛍️📈
Everyone thinks that the highest conversion day is Black Friday, however . . . Cyber Monday rings in as the top conversion day for U.S. holiday shopping in 2023, and the same will be true for 2024, unless an Alien Starship invades earth!! 👽 It’s easy to see why Cyber Monday has the highest conversion, as many shoppers wait until the last minute to snag deals, creating a sense of urgency that skyrockets conversions. Perhaps FOMO kicks in on the last day??? 😱 But here’s something interesting . . . Desktop still dominates, boasting nearly double the conversion rate of mobile. 💻 While mobile is great for browsing on the go, it seems shoppers trust their desktops more when it’s time to pull the trigger on a purchase. Thanksgiving Eve, on the other hand, tells a different story. Conversion rates dip slightly because shoppers are in research mode—they're browsing, researching and bookmarking items without feeling the pressure to commit just yet. Key takeaway?? Focus your energy on Black Friday and Cyber Monday for the BIG sales day 📈 For Thanksgiving, use it as an opportunity to share engaging, attention-grabbing content to stay top of mind so when people are ready to buy, your brand is the first thing they think of. That resonates with me. I prefer buying on a laptop/desktop vs. tablet or phone. 🖥️
What benefit of getting a group to Top 5 in a catagory?
I see with the new algorithm in the discoveries section, it showcases the top five on a rotation of each field/category. do you think there is any real-world benefit of having a group in the top 5 of any given section (personal development, finance, love etc)? thanks Skool Community 👍

I would imagine the top 10 results probably get the majority of clicks. The Discovery page probably gets 200k+ views per day, so pretty valuable real estate. 🤑
