Sunday's meeting is IN THE BOOKS!! Had an awesome time seeing everyone tonights. This was our mental health day for our group and here's what we talked about: We started off with seeing how each group member was doing. Good updates all around and excited for the week to come. Then we started off our discussion with some words from the late great Kobe Bryant from his book "Mamba Mentality". Some readings we went over were: ⭐ Keeping it Real - Kobe started his career off with thinking image was the most important and then realized that he is better off with being true to himself. ⭐ Details in the Design - Discussion on Kobe's detailed execution on how he created his signature shoe. Translated this to why it is important to have a ridiculous attention to detail in preparation. ⭐ Feeling the Environment - During the national anthem, Kobe would become aware of all things around him to take in the environment and feel energy. Using this time helps take quiet the mind in preparation for flow state. After the discussion, we continued to converse about the similarities and differences of skills in a student and athlete. We found that there are many similars to the skills, but the way the skills are used are different. This was interesting to hear and eye opening that many can practices mindset skills even in school that will help them in the game. Lastly, we finished with an exercise on what each of them could handle and what was out of their hands. Control the controllable! WHAT A DAY! Next meeting - Sunday, Feb. 17th @ 7pm CT!🔥
