Introduce yourself :)
Welcome, welcome to the community 👋 🏊 I promise you that I'll teach you exactly how the sports psychologist of Michael Phelps (Dr. Jim Bauman) helped me overcome my pre-race anxiety and turned me from an OK-ish swimmer into an Olympian and Swiss record holder in less than 1 year. But first... Pls, introduce yourself :) Let's goooooo! 🚀 P.S. Vote on your swimming dream. How big can you dream?

Hi, I am a mother of 14 year old girl, swimmer. And I think she suffers from all I have read here – pre-race anxiety, going through start lists and being afraid of competitors, visualizing everything that can go wrong. But that’s not only it. She had serious health problems with knees and ankle and although it was healed to some extent it left her with hurt soul and low self-esteem

Client's Story: First European Champs
Since we got a lot of IM-ers in the MindGym I thought I share another one from the summer. This was a pressure cooker!!! @Gartmann Gartmann had trained well all season but this summer was going to be different: He qualified for the 2024 Summer European Championships in Belgrade. That was a big breakthrough for Gian-Luca Gartmann. And at the same time... It seemed scary. As the big race got closer, doubt and insecurity crept in... We mostly worked on his breathing, not freaking out during taper when something didn't go as planned, and visualization. He then went to Belgrade and crushed it at his first Euro Champs. So happy for him and he continues to perform great. We'll hopefully see him on TV at the World Champs in Singapore in the summer 2025 🚀😃 Here are all his PBs: https://www.swimrankings.net/index.php?page=athleteDetail&athleteId=4813079 And that's his personal website if you're curious: https://www.gianlucagartmann.com/

SIDE STITCHES in practice
Can someone provide suggestions for preventing and managing side stitches in practice? My 10 y/o swims 5 days a week and tends to get side stitches 1-2 practices every week that cause him pain so then he sits out for a bit. The sitting out or the coach coaxing him back in the water then makes him upset which only escalates the pain. He does not eat huge amounts before practice and hydrates well. He is VERY thin in general. HELP!!!!

I'm curious about the answer myself. My daughter gets side stitches during races, especially long distance freestyle
Drowning in Nerves Before Big Races? The "Magic Trick" 🎩 to Be Confident
[Register for the Body Language live training here, comment 🚀 if you also want the recording] That sick feeling in your stomach before a big race? The trembling hands? The doubt creeping in? We get it. Competitive swimming is brutal. You train for hours, push your body to the limit, and then... your mind betrays you. But what if there was a "magic trick" to instantly boost your confidence? Something so simple, everyone can do it? Imagine this: - Walking tall onto the deck, head high, a smile on your face. Suddenly, you feel a surge of power. Competitors notice. They feel it too. - Standing strong in the call room, shoulders back, owning your space. The nerves melt away. You're in control. - Behind the blocks, meeting the crowd's gaze with a fire in your eyes. Breathing deep, chest out, ready to unleash. Doubt? Gone. This isn't magic, but if you've never done it... It feels like it. It's about changing your confidence with body language in 3 seconds. That's all it takes. It's the secret weapon you didn't know you had. Without this training? - Nerves could sabotage your performance. - You might give your competitors a psychological edge. - You could miss out on this simple, powerful tool. Join me and: - Learn the "magic trick" of confident body language, even when you're freaking out. - Use your posture, gaze, every move to command focus. - Walk onto that deck feeling like an Olympian. This is even easier than Conscious Breathing. 👉 Register for the Body Language live training here
