Arm and Body pounding, conditioning drills in martial arts training.
Here is a general question for everyone. How many of you have either seen a demonstration of, or participated in a form of body, arm pounding style conditioning as a part of your martial arts training?

I have done it. We’ve done different drills with arm pounding, to leg pounding, to using bamboo sticks and hitting through ought the body to harden it. I always loved it
Any anime fans in here?
I grew up watching Naruto and have watched many more since. I enjoy the style as a whole but some of the Shonen fight scenes get me really hyped to train too!

@Courtney Stevens definitely need to it’s an absolutely amazing anime with quite a bit of research done on portraying real martial arts (you’ll understand when you watch haha)

Training with video games.
Sometimes I like to work out with a fitness oriented video game. One of my favorites is "Thrill of the Fight" a vr boxing game. It's the game that feels the most like a sparring match, while others are full of video game elements like "stamina bars" and "buttons" this One is very stripped down. The only game mechanics are punch and don't get punched. It also gives you feedback by flashing different colors on the impact to tell you if you punch fast enough. Does anyone else have a game to recommend?

I workout with elder scrolls believe it or not haha. I would drop down and do a set of pushups, sit ups, squats, or lunges depending on the day when you’re loading maps and stuff. It was great haha
What makes Martial Arts great?
What aspects of the Martial Arts do you think make all the different styles so great? For me, I think Martial Arts are fantastic for many things but especially for physical health. As a LMT I work with a lot of clients who suffer from general body pain and injuries that build up due to a sedentary lifestyle. MA is a fantastic tool for building functional strength, mobility, coordination, and so much more that can drastically improve someone's physical health for the better!

Since you hit the physical aspect I’m going to go with the mental aspect. It’s amazing for those with anxiety, depression, etc. The mental strength it helps each martial artist build is absolutely amazing
👋 Hi, I’m James!
👋 Hi, I’m James! I want to get these 3 things from the community: 1. To meet new people who share my interest in nerdy fandoms and martial arts. 2. To learn new things and see how people do things differently. 3. Make and achieve new goals alongside other friends. For fun I like to do these 3 things: 1. Gaming (both tabletop 🎲 and video games 🎮) & Anime📓💥 2. Freewriting and drawing (mostly worldbuilding or character design) 3. Hiking and Camping
