Volume & Sound Quality! ๐ŸŽš๏ธ๐Ÿ”Š
Hello everyone! For those of you working with game music, I'd love to hear your insights on an issue Iโ€™m debating with my husband, whoโ€™s also in the industry. He has a strong opinion that in-game music should sound great at both low and high volumes, no matter what. He insists that "the music should be so well-mixed that if it's ever played at high volume on big speakers (like at Gamecom conference), that it wonโ€™t hurt people's ears." Hmm ๐Ÿง I thought this only applied to trailer music... Honestly, though, I often struggle to achieve that clean, ear-friendly mix when I crank up the volume on my speakers. The mix sounds perfectly balanced at mid-volume, even high volume in headphones, but as soon as I push the volume on speakers, it can sound unpolished or harsh. How do you handle this? Is my husband right, and should I be aiming for that kind of "conference-ready" sound? If so, it looks like I need to dig deeper into final mix techniques. But! some VSTs just sound harsh at high volumes, reducing Frqz only makes the sound tiny and poor. Any advice or tips would be super appreciated!

I had this Problem also and experimented a little bit with Analog Saturation for higher frequencies, also I really like to use gulfoss to smooth out the top end without making it sound to dull. Sometimes I also like to use this eq called Warmy EP1A and boost the highs a little bit. I feel like this eq doesnโ€™t sound as harsh as other eqs when boosting that high frequencyโ€™s :). I am by no means a professional engineer but this are some of my main tools I use to address this topic :D
Audio Artist Rise Program Update
Hey everyone, I hope you guys had a great start into the week! Instead of cramming the entire Audio Artist Rise Program into a single module as it currently is the case, it will get its own dedicated place here in Skool from now on. So instead of having a single module in between all the other courses here, having an entire new space, makes it easier to focus on the individual modules, lessons and the step by step process. It will also make the process easier to upgrade and expand individual modules without having more and more (chaotic) folders in a single module. In short, all Audio Artist Risers (Gold, Platinum & Iridium) will get access to the new place here on Skool. You don't need to do anything. In case you are NOT an Audio Artist Rise Member yet, and you think about jumping into the subscription, here is the link: https://www.skool.com/audio-artist-rise/about What's inside? All courses on the Audio Artist Academy (except guest courses), access to Audio Artist Rise and two weekly live calls. Yes, two from now on - every Wednesday 10am and 6pm. Please keep in mind that there are 2-3 welcome videos that I didn't record yet :)

Musio Feedback?
For those using Musio what do you think? Good points, bad points? I'm on a trial and it seems like an easy decision $200 lifetime-ish (with optional annual upgrades to expand your library). It seems already loaded with a lot! https://musio.com/catalog/

My first movie gig!!! ๐ŸŽฅ
Hello everyone! It's incredible. A couple of years ago, I sent a request out into the Universe, and here I am - scoring for my first movie. It's a testament to the power of believing in "you become what you think." ๐ŸŒ ๐ŸŒŸ I wanted it, and I got it. Now, however, comes the scariest part. I have barely three weeks left until the deadline. ๐Ÿ˜… The movie director was supposed to send it to me in January-February, and it was supposed to be about 10 minutes long. But surprise! I received the final cut on Wednesday, and it's 20 minutes long. I have to deliver the music by May 15th, or else he won't be able to submit the application to the Toronto Festival. It's a pivotal moment in my life, and I need to give it my absolute best, right? Could any of you guide me a little? Is there anything specific I should consider on the technical side when writing for a movie? I know there's a 5.1 surround setting for the final mix, but does this mean I have to mix my channels in a specific way, or is the usual L/R panning setting sufficient? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ๐Ÿ™
