Knowing what I know now about detailing. I would have to say 7 or 8 years old. My Dad had a 1970 GTO convertible. He would wax it with turtle wax and he would just do a basic clean. My mom is a clean freak. So I took her traits. I use to just look at how cool my dad's car was and stare at it for a long time. I noticed some small bits he misses. So I would go and clean them by myself. Ever since then. I would do my mom's car like that and other family members cars too. I was known in the family as hey let Rigo wash your car because he does a great job. I remember thinking at a young age. Wow! Wouldn't it be cool if I could do this as a job. Thanks to covid. I was able to use the government money they gave us to start buying tools and products. And here I am. Jobs are unacceptable now.
Do you get these obscure messages?
At least once a month I get an IM asking if I do Ceramic Coatings. I automatically think a potential customer is asking this question. But no, it is a bait question from someone wanting to sell me the opportunity to generate more ceramic coating leads/jobs. Then the person wonders why I am rude to them. 🤬

🙄 OH God I know. Glad to see I'm not alone in this struggle 😅 they are annoying. And most of them are young kids. Had one contact me last night from India and he was saying he has 1 million dollars pre paid ads in Facebook. 🤣 I was like that's fantastic. So you don't need me. And he's like but I wanna help you. Thanks but no thanks. The calls have gone down for me though. I get 1 or 2 a month. I say some pretty nasty things. That seems to have helped. I tell them. Hey sorry I can not do business with you. Our government has warned us about the overwhelming scam calls from India and we are instructed to not do business. I tell them I'm interested but since India has such a bad reputation for scamming. There's no way they can be trusted. I also said that as soon as we hear their accent. We are to automatically distrust them. And not do business with them. I keep them on the phone as long as I can. While I'm working. With the generator in the back ground or vacuum while I'm on the phone. Make the call as long and annoying as possible to waste their time and listen to them sigh as they become annoyed with me. They have gotten to a point with me that they just don't want to deal with me and call less or not call at all. I kinda miss the calls now. Whenever they do call I tell them. Oh heeeey. You guys haven't called in awhile. And that they're slacking and they need to step it up. Or tell them in an angry assertive voice hurry up you got 30 seconds to say whatever. And within a few seconds. Start counting down. 5 4 3 2 1 and they speak faster 🤣 then I say uh. I couldn't hear you or understand you because of your accent. And then they sigh. I say. Can you repeat that. Oh man they hate calling me. I love it. 🤣 but they stop calling.

My first Commercial ad
I paid $395.00 for space on a popular golf course score card. I received a scorecard in the mail today. Good for one year. The company selling the space is Bench Craft Company of Portland, OR.

Oh wow I get those kind of calls and emails all the time. Sounds a bit sketchy. I've even had a guy meet me at a Starbucks for the same thing but it was for a private community. They wanted $400 for a year. Be careful guy's. But I definitely want to hear a follow up on this. I'm in Florida. Lots of golf courses.
Just adding some value to this awesome group
Yo guys, this is a awesome community for detailers so I though I would add some free value to the group. I have just started a YouTube channel of my own its very early so no where near as big as detailers club!! But it is for Detailers and Automotive business owners, and videos on helping them grow and scale just like you Oscar🤝. I'd love to know your guys thoughts (here's one of the videos on my channel).

I'm definitely going with OrbisX. Pretty much has everything a detailer needs.

This doesn't mean you have to agree with what everyone says, but you can add your input and add a different perspective to the conversation. This is the place to talk all things detailing and business related like: - How to market your services - How to price your services - How to detail more efficiently - How to add new services 📩 Invite Other Detailers Want to invite other detailers into the community? Just go to Settings > Invite > and grab your unique link. 🔍 Use the “Search” bar at the top of the group Use the search function to find answers to questions you may have. Search for things like "ceramic coating", "marketing", or "hiring". ❌ This is not the place for customer service, billing, or tech/login issues. If you are a customer and need customer service or billing support, please email oscar(at)detailgroove.co and we’ll get back to you! Let's build the best community of professional detailers🤘🏽
