How to differentiate the performance curve of the Fan vs theTurbine?
Dear CFD enthusiast, I worked on the turbine problem, where I achieved my pressure drop vs flow rate curve, which is propositionally varying (fig. attached). When I simulate the fan, its performance curve shows that it is inversely proportional to the flow rate. I understand the foundations. But my question is how to calculate the fan performance curve (static pressure vs. flow rate). Regarding the radiator (now I'm working on it) fan, how do I calculate the static pressure measurement ( Ps= Pt-Pd) Ps- static pressure, Pt-total pressure, and Pd = dynamic pressure. Is it right way to calculate?. If I follow this approach, I end up with the same curve as the turbine curve. What did I miss here? If you have any reference documents for radiator fan simulation, please share them here. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Mohamed Sayed, Yes, I used the same formula to calculate the Ps value for the (radiator fan). For the simulation, I am using HyperMesh.

Hi dear CFD enthusiast, In our previous discussion on fan simulation, I employed velocity inlet boundary conditions, while some literature recommends using volume inlet conditions, which vary with flow volumes. Should I switch from a velocity to a pressure inlet boundary condition? Fans provide energy to fluids, resulting in higher outlet pressure compared to the inlet. This is why the P-Q curve behaves as depicted in Fig. 2. Will a pressure inlet boundary condition make a significant difference, or should I continue with the velocity/volume inlet boundary condition?
How do difine the CFL- for heat transfer?
Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy number: for heat transfer analysis, I want to fix value between 0.3-0.5. But, I facing difficulties during the simulation, I encountered divergence and diffusivity in my solution. I try to fix it, but it is hard to find the exact bug. Can anyone know it? Please let me explain.

My First UDF.
User Defined Functions (UDFs) are amazing when it comes to defining motion to a boundary or setting complex boundary conditions or material properties. 💡 Coded in C language, UDFs give engineers the flexibility to add more complexity to the problems they are solving. 🔧 I wrote a UDF for a simple case of 2D airfoil simulation to get my hands dirty in the UDF domain of ANSYS Fluent. The UDF rotates the airfoil periodically by +/- 20 degrees, thus periodically varying its angle of attack. ✈️ Watch how the lift and drag forces vary with the motion of the airfoil in the video below. 📽️ https://youtu.be/duv2y70omEk

Should CFD beginners have a portfolio?
I'm the field of CFD, when applying for a job, does having a portfolio showing your most impressive projects help in getting a job? Or would the recruiter not even bother in taking a look at it?

I don't believe that having a portfolio is always necessary to stand out in the recruitment process. If your skill set aligns with the requirements of the position, you can still be selected without one. Your biodata should effectively showcase all your skills and abilities.
