Is there a way to have Polling node on a wait for status update?

I am trying to create a work flow where at one point the workflow has to be on hold until we manually decide if the client is approved or rejected. depending on the response the workflow will contuine down that path. how ever i do not see any way of doing this we out creating a new trigger. trying to avoid it. any questions?

The process.

they client fills out a applications form. it goes into google sheets. with a status column.
manually we look over the application or call the client and approve or denied the client.
But i would like to update there status so they can get a letter of denial or get their aproval informations.

Hopefully one of you guys can help me or have had the same problem and resolved it.
