Can you please provide negotiating points on how to set the best contract/consulting rates?
I have already researched from the conventional wisdom perspective, so, do you have an AWGB perspective that provides a different lens that helps shift the 1099 paradigm?
FYI, luckily, I am working with very friendly and reasonable people. There is no friction in my particular situation. However, I started at a rate that’s probably too low and I’m raising my rate now that my first SOW is complete. I want to make the new deal good for both sides without putting myself on sale.
The organization is a non-profit so there are real limits to what is possible. My skills/offering is in software Product Strategy/Management.
