Range day.
I have the privilege of serving with a great group of men on a church security team. Today was our annual rage weekend that consisted of training readiness tactics at the church facility, then a full day of shooting drills, tactics, skill building foundations training and testing. Something's I observed about myself. I was nervous. I knew that at the range with all the teams present my skills or lack of skills would be tested and shown for all to see. I sometimes get a bit nervous when the rubber hits the road and I find out truely what skills I have or need to improve on. At the end of the day it was an amazing experience. We all saw our strengths and our areas that we each needed to work on. The best part is it was all done together which keeped us all humble and accountable to each other. Iron truly sharopns iron,.just like in this group. I know I'm new here but I am thankful already for you guys.
Anyone else out here have this involved in combat sports, shooting sports or a men's space related activity that has helped you grow mentally as a man. What where some good take away lessons?
For me the take aways where: it's okay to not be good at something, look at areas that need improvement and work on them and become great. Keep building on what you are good at to get even better. Never stop improving. Keeping good accountably and stay humble.
