I had someone reach out to me this weekend and invite mine to a mastermind and i was hesitant.
I was hesitant because this mastermind is for business owners who are generating north of 600k per year.
I asked him I don’t think the mastermind was for me as i am nowhere near having that sort of impact on the industry.
By making that assumption i had broken one of my golden rules: Go where you feel like a minion.
He highlighted to me that the real win was being in the room with these guys.
You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with.
We have all heard this before and it couldn’t be more true. We build bonds and relationships with people over the years because we are social creatures. And those relationships become comfortable.
And over the days, weeks, months and years we slowly take on one another’s traits and beliefs and norms, This can be good and bad.
If you are the one in the group that has done well in your career, or has gotten in shape you can inspire those around you however, if you haven’t got another group of people who are holding you to a higher standard and aren’t stretching your perceived capabilities then you may become isolated. And you being isolated can lead to you stagnating and letting your standards slip.
It’s nice to be a big fish in a small pond at times but there is no growth there.
So putting yourself in those situations that make you feel like a minion. A rookie is what we must all seek.
What have you been putting off?
What makes you doubt yourself?
because that’s exactly where you attention should be.
If you dare to be great, be prepared to look like a fool.
