You can also watch the recording, here 👇👇 When attention is on you, how do you respond? Do you retreat and hope that the audience leans into you? Or do you lean into the audience and become very direct?
When you’re practicing speaking, have a friend observe any tension you may hold in your body and pinpoint where you are holding that tension. Is it in your neck? Your arms? Your face? etc.
Relaxation: Take an inventory of your entire body and relax different parts of your body one by one.
The inventory is you scanning your own physical presence from top to bottom, or bottom to top.
When you do your inventory, what do you notice? Where do you hold your tension?
Tension in and of itself is not necessarily bad. The key to improving your speaking is to be AWARE of it. That way you can relax those parts of your body… or you can allow it to be and use it as one of the things that makes you unique.
