What are you doing today?
Everyday we get to choose activities, postures, mindsets that either move us closer to living our dream life or snap us right out of it. You are the one who chooses your experience. Are you living your dream life right this second? If not, why? What is preventing it?
I am going for a walk in a few minutes and while I am walking, I will listen to an old Bethel sermon. That feels luxurious to me. I have a phone call scheduled with my oldest daughter which always, even if it is a hard conversation, leads me to thankfulness. She shares what's on her heart and mind and I treasure that. I will film some videos to promote the Legacy Builder program. That feels crazy to get to pick up my phone, use it as a camcorder (!), and then use it to transmit all of that data to multiple platforms where it can be seen by the world. Thank you Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. I will have dinner with my husband tonight. I will be with my favorite person on the planet while eating a meal that I only have to pay for, not having bought any of the groceries, cooked the meal, or washed the dishes.
As I sit in this apartment that we live in Monday-Friday, I will work. I am choosing to be really flexible with where I work in the apartment because the furniture that is provided can become uncomfortable. So, I will move locations a lot. I also will drown out the background noise of all the kids that are here right now, taking refuge from the impending storms in Florida. With every child's scream that I get to edit out of my video, I will be reminded to pray for everyone in Milton's path and for the hurricane itself. I will pray for the parents of these kids who are all carrying a heavy burden as they wait to see what happens.
There are circumstances today that I will choose and they will go exactly as I planned. There will be circumstances today that I have not chosen and they will go exactly as I planned. Because my plan is to show up in love and everything that defines love: patience, kindness, honoring, humble, forgiving, gracious, merciful. trusting, hopeful, persevering, protecting, and never failing. This is part of how I live my dream life every day.
