Munch on this, it can seem sweet then turn sour when you stuff your face with Emotional/Stress Eating
Sometimes we eat for reasons other than hunger. Stress, emotional comfort, reward, because it's there, because we're bored, or it was offered to us and we feel it would be rude to decline.
Perhaps we are trying to fill some other need.
Emotional/stress eating is using food to make yourself feel better.
Distinguishing between emotional and physical hunger can be difficult.
It's helpful to identify triggers.
What situations, places, or feelings make you turn to food for the comfort? Stress, emotions, boredom, avoidance, influences, habits.
Instead of allowing automatic and rather mindless eating, pause and put the temptation or craving on hold for 30-60 seconds while you think about the choice.
If you choose to go ahead and eat, slow down and savor your food by practicing mindful eating.
Today each time you go to eat stop and ask yourself if you're truly hungry or if there may be some other need driving your urge.
