The Subtle Art of Losing Our Way
I find myself often getting side tracked even on my ever important quests of life. One that I have planned out, put in place contingent plans, and other safe falls. I always end up needing to fight back to get on the right track, and hope I did not stray too far. MANY MORE times when I have good intent, I ALWAYS need to check my ego. John Mark Comer sums it up greatly. “I would argue the desire to be great was put there by the Creator himself. After all, we’re made in his image. The problem is this desire, which in its embryonic, innocent state is so, so right, is quickly warped and soiled and bent out of shape by the ego. We devolve from a desire to be great to a desire to be thought of as great. From a desire to serve the weak to a desire to be served by the weak. From a desire to save the world to a desire to have it.”

How To "STAY" Consistent
It is EXTREMELY difficult to only rely on your own "WILL". Sometimes you need to, other times you tell yourself you have to because of your ego and insecurities (talking from experience) What I've learned is consistency is EARNED. Similar to how trust is earned. It is not a one dimensional relationship. When you have support, accountability, and community when those weak days come (which they will), you will have those around you to inspire and REMIND you WHY you are doing this in the first place. I'm not saying you cant do it on your own, but what for... Do your agree?

Vision Quote from Edison
“Vision without execution is delusion.” – Thomas A. Edison Thomas Edison, was born on February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio, U.S., was an American inventor who left an indelible mark on history. His relentless pursuit of innovation led to a staggering 1,093 patents, either individually or in collaboration with others. Let’s delve into some of his remarkable accomplishments: Incandescent Light Bulb: Edison is perhaps best known for inventing the incandescent electric light bulb. His groundbreaking work in this area revolutionized the way we illuminate our world. Phonograph: The phonograph, another of Edison’s inventions, allowed sound to be recorded and played back. It laid the foundation for modern audio technology. Carbon-Button Transmitter: Edison’s work extended to telephony, where he developed the carbon-button transmitter for telephone speakers and microphones. This innovation significantly improved communication. Motion Pictures: Edison played a pivotal role in the development of motion pictures. His contributions include elements of the motion picture camera and other apparatus related to film. Electric Utility System: Edison’s vision extended beyond individual inventions. He created the world’s first industrial research laboratory, which became the birthplace of numerous technological breakthroughs. Alkaline Batteries: Edison’s work also encompassed the alkaline family of storage batteries, which have had a lasting impact on various applications. In essence, Thomas Edison’s legacy as one of the greatest inventors of all time continues to shape our modern industrialized world. I think Edison knew a thing or two about vision. 15%-20% Rule
I’m currently reading a book called “The Art of Impossible” written by Steven Kotler. He shares this 15%-20% rule that has been implemented in billion dollar companies… It all started with 3M. They mandated all of their employees to work on projects/ideas that were important to them 15% of their week. Meaning about 1 afternoon per week… The big pay off? Post It Notes. A billion dollar revenue generating idea that came from the 15% rule.. Of course this makes waves, and Google decided to make the same bet on their employees.. But a 20% rule. Their payoff? Google Adsense + Gmail to name a few… My take on this: devoting 15%-20% of your time every week on being creative, working through ideas, will have an immense return on investment. This is about 1 afternoon, or 2-3 hours twice a week. What do you think you could do with this?
