Exclusive Daily Lesson #4: 1k to 600k Views Transformation
Guide: How to Skyrocket Your Instagram Growth as a Music Producer
In just a short time, I went from getting around 1,000 views per video to averaging 20,000 views daily, with a total of 600,000 views in the past month. Here are the three biggest lessons I learned along the way that made this growth possible.
1. Create a Strategic Content Plan
Early on, I would randomly create videos whenever inspiration struck, only to get minimal views and limited results. The key shift came when I learned how to make a targeted plan for my content. Here’s what made the difference:
Analyze High-Performing Content: Study videos that are already popular. Look at the elements that contribute to their success—everything from hooks to visuals—and use those insights to shape your own content.
Develop a Posting Schedule: Establish a consistent posting rhythm that maximizes each video’s reach but doesn’t consume all your time. Remember, as music producers, our priority is our music, so the goal is efficiency.
Build a Repeatable Formula**: Once you find what works, create a formula that you can repeat with each video. This eliminates guesswork and allows you to post consistently with confidence.
2. Understand Instagram’s Priorities and Play to Them
Growth on Instagram isn’t just about likes; there are specific interactions that the platform values more. Knowing this can significantly influence your content’s reach. Here’s what Instagram values most:
Shares: The more people share your content, the more Instagram will push it. Create videos that resonate so people feel compelled to share them.
Saves: Aim to make content that’s valuable enough for people to save and revisit later.
Comments: Encourage discussions or ask questions to get more comments.
Likes: While everyone chases likes, they are actually the least impactful interaction for reach.
By focusing on shares, saves, and comments, I saw a huge shift in my engagement, with 91% of my views coming from non-followers due to Instagram’s push.
3. Use the Four Types of Content for Consistent Growth
Understanding and using different types of content not only keeps things fresh but also targets varied audience interests. These are the four content types that have helped my growth:
Educational Content: Teach your audience something valuable. For producers, this could be tips on mixing, beat-making, or gear recommendations.
Entertainment Content: Make people laugh or provide something light-hearted that keeps them engaged.
Community Content: Connect with your niche by sharing relatable or meme-based content that resonates with your community.
Growth Content: This includes offering free resources, solving specific problems, or creating a sense of community that encourages engagement.
Rotating these types of content keeps your feed interesting, covers multiple audience interests, and helps you plan content without the guesswork.
Summary of the Strategy
My Instagram growth accelerated when I:
1. Created a detailed content plan: Analyzing successful content, scheduling posts effectively, and using a repeatable formula.
2. Focused on what Instagram values most: Prioritizing shares, saves, and comments to boost reach.
3. Rotated four types of content: Educational, entertainment, community, and growth content to keep engagement high and content diverse.
By following these steps, you can see similar results and attract a larger, engaged audience.
