I noticed that there is a wide variance of how people use story highlights on Instagram and not a lot of information on organizing them as you would your feed.
The two main things I see that I believe are effective are compilations (podcast appearance clips, memes, etc) and highlights that tell a story or document a valuable event (ex: Babes and Toy Land 2022).
I will be organizing my highlights in these two formats and I will be curating them so that I appeal to all the communication styles as according to the process communication model.
Facts, Fun, Feelings, Rebellion, Imagination, Value.
I also think Evo Psych could be of use in deciding what to highlight. (protection, provisioning, access to scare resources, etc)
Currently I have a highlight for "knowledge" where I post logical and valuable things (my book list, life advice quotes, etc) and I edit political/ social cartoons into single highlights (1 video per highlight).
If you organize your highlights in a particular way how do you categorize them and what things do you highlight?
I think there may be something of value in figuring out what things should be seen "above the fold" (what is seen without scrolling) and the exact things you should highlight (and things you shouldn't) when building a brand.
