We had the rare opportunity today to clean out the entire wardrobe of a local estate. Just four closets worth of clothing and shoes...a walk-in, a standard bedroom, an entryway, and a mudroom. It doesn't really sound like a lot, but it's a heck of a lot. I expect that we will end up donating most of this, but as we were packing, we found a lot of pretty good stuff. So much wool, and silk, and vintage, and decent brands all around.
The best way to get into homes is to network. If you know any realtors, handymen, funeral directors, auctioneers, bankers, etc...let them know what you do and make sure that they have your information. You will get leads from time to time. Some will not work out. But some will work out very well. I think that this was a good one.
