a request of a friend of mine

Hey! I know that there are many related posts on this subreddit but they are mostly all really old and I don't know if the rate that this field progresses would impact the suggested material or not, I'm a junior from Egypt and I really find sociology fascinating and I would like to self study it before university, can I have some suggestions on introductory materials and how to find more advanced materials afterwards? Thanks!
