“WATCHMAN!”
Being a watchman is a biblical concept found in Ezekiel33:1-9. A watchman was responsible for sounding the alarm and warning the people of impending danger. In a spiritual sense, being a watchman means being vigilant and alert to the spiritual condition of those around us. It involves speaking truth and warning others of sin and its consequences.
As Christians, we are called to be watchmen for our brothers and sisters in Christ (Galatians
6:1-2). This means holding each other accountable, encouraging one another in the faith, and warning against false teachings. It also means being willing to speak the truth in love, even if it is
uncomfortable or unpopular (Ephesians 4:15).
Ultimately, being a watchman is an act of love and obedience to God. It requires humility, courage, and a heart that desires the spiritual well-being of others. It is a serious responsibility that should not be taken lightly, but it is also a privilege to be used by God to help protect and guide His people.
