Welcome to the Texas Math Support Network!
I’m so glad you’re here! As parents, we all worry about whether our kids are prepared for life after high school, especially after the setbacks caused by COVID-19. You’re definitely not alone in these concerns—recent studies show that 65% of parents share these worries, with even higher percentages among Spanish-speaking families, Hispanic families, low-income households, and those with students in special education programs.
As a Math Teacher in Texas, I know firsthand the challenges our students face, especially in math. In this group, we’re here to support each other, share resources, and connect over the unique challenges and opportunities we’re experiencing with our kids’ education. Together, we can make a real difference!
Here’s how we can help each other in this community:
  • Share your biggest concerns in the comments below. Whether it’s about upcoming tests, keeping up with math skills, or the pressures of preparing for STAAR, let’s start a conversation!
  • I’ll be sharing tips and strategies to help your child with math at home, as well as STAAR preparation insights.
  • As a teacher experienced in working with both Gifted and Talented and Special Education students, I’m here to provide guidance tailored to a wide range of learning needs. My SPED students have consistently shown higher scores compared to peers, and my GT students experience steady growth in my class.
Let’s support each other and work together to give our kids the best possible future. Feel free to introduce yourselves and share any challenges or worries you’re facing. We’re in this together!
