Celebrate the Wins!!
I own a dumpster rental business. I have a youtube channel where I document my journey as a first time business owner. I have just over 3,000subs on the channel now and I've recently been leveraging the channel to help my business.
  1. The channel is sponsored by my dumpster manufacture where they have given me multiple free dumpsters and additional perks. A dumpster is roughly $6k a piece, so saving/making crazy money with this partnership.
  2. The channel is sponsored by a website developer who just recently built me a free website and is about to begin SEO. He charges $2500 to build and minimum $1200/month to do SEO. I invited him to a dumpster industry event I was apart of putting on and he has since had 9 people work with him directly because of me. I've never given him a dime and it seems I never will.
  3. The channel is sponsored by a Google ads agency that has just started running ads for me. I am their first "influencer" and will be paying me $200 per customer I bring them besides not paying for their services.
4. THIS IS THE LATEST SPONSORSHIP - The channel is sponsored by a financial software that routes money from my income account to all my other Profit First (money management strategy) business bank accounts and liabilities. I just had them do a livestream with me tonight on the channel and they are giving me 20% commission of referrals perpetually.
All this to say, I feel incredibly blessed. This is huge value for my business. I consider these partnerships on the channel to be intimately connected to my business and I'm operating the channel as a part of my business.
If you need services or products to help build your business, try to find a way to trade value for it. Build your business (if at all possible) off of relationships and give value. I'm hyper focused in making sure my sponsors are getting more from me than I am from them. If you could dream of the next new tool or asset that would propel your business forward, go find the people who have what you need and go meet their need FIRST. Show up with value.
I'm actively looking for the next pain point of mine and then will find the person who has it. Leverage what you have, nurture those relationships, build your freaking business. LET'S GOOOO!!!
