Here’s a neat trick for creating evolving textures: try using Granulator II in Ableton (a free Max for Live device). It’s great for stretching out samples into lush soundscapes.
Load up any sample and set the Grain Size small to break it into tiny fragments. Then, tweak the Spray parameter to randomize where the grains are played from. The key move: automate the File Position to get movement through the sample over time. You can even map it to an LFO for dynamic shifts.
Try adjusting Detune to add a subtle shimmer—perfect for ambient pads or intros.
