Sometimes, it's easy to overlook the fact that creators with a large audience have likely already monetized themselves. On the other hand, those who haven't monetized may not be as knowledgeable in online business and may not be ideal to work with. This is why, even though it's easy to find clients, it can be hard to find the ideal client.
So what can we do? Ideally, we find that golden opportunity of hitting the right person at the right time and land a large creator who isn't monetizing but is great at what they do. However, outside of this specific situation, we can use our knowledge to invest in the right creators that we project will skyrocket over the next 2 years.
Let's use some numbers to illustrate this point. A creator with 150k followers may have only had 10k followers 1.5 years ago. This means that a creator with 10k followers now could potentially reach 150k followers in a year from now. If you partner with them now and build a long-term partnership, you can experience your own income drastically scaling on autopilot during their blow-up from their own efforts. If you decide they aren't big enough and don't reach out, by the time they reach 150k followers in 1.5 years, it will be too late as they will have already made use of their audience.
I'm not saying you should only reach out to small creators. Of course, the bigger the creator, the better. Whether they have 100k, 1 million, or 10 million followers, the larger the better. But if you simply cannot get a response from these large creators, it would be far better to create an income for yourself with micro 10-50k creators to begin with. You can always pivot and adjust your strategy as you go along.
