Hi friends! I’m a long time collaborator and friend of Angela’s who has benefited from hours upon hours of conversation and strategic thinking with her. This community is a manifestation of her heart and vision and it’s truly a blessing to see it coming to pass. I’ve been meditating on my names for a while now Maureen (a Gaelic form of Mary) and Elizabeth (which I only recently recognized as a Biblical reference). As much as I wanted more children, I am pretty sure I am destined to birth something unexpected and unlikely in the Kingdom. It will take a move of God as He has stripped me of any personal ability in this realm. Here’s what He has shown me: A retreat center to be built here in my rural community. There’s land here but the vision consists of constructing small dwellings to host visitors seeking the Lord, as well as a central space for worship, community, fellowship, and food. I saw this years ago and put together a presentation, visited some land, approached some potential board members, etc, and nothing came to fruition. It was disheartening and disillusioning and I laid it down, like a self-fulfilling prophecy that “we will forget” (what God was trying to teach us) once the pandemic ended. I had felt an urgency about the vision, that it needed to happen so that God could be personally and intimately found in this crazy world. I had a sense that a remnant was being created and called to stay fixed on His direction for our future. I had found some supporters but it wasn’t the appointed time and ultimately I… forgot. I became doubtful and laid it down. A few weeks ago with the birthing of this community I asked God what He wanted me to do. He brought this vision back to my mind, and as I revisited each element of it, I found it intact, being confirmed piece by piece. Yes, it’s still to have little cabins named for the fruit of the spirit. Yes, it’s still to have a communal worship space, yes it’s still to be called Psalms 46:10 Ministries. Yes, it’s still to be here locally. I just DON’T KNOW HOW.

Business and ministry often revolve around personal success, yet Jesus’ example reminds us to serve with a heart fully focused on God. He didn’t seek approval, profit for the sake of profit, or recognition—He worked solely to reach souls and fulfill the Father’s purpose. As we begin to reflect on the past year and look ahead into the new year, we’re invited to do the same. Let’s realign our work to reflect His example, letting faith, discernment, and sacrificial generosity lead our actions. 1️⃣ Quiet Obedience: Seek guidance in private with God. Instead of aiming for public recognition, build your vision in the hidden spaces, letting God be the ultimate guide. 2️⃣ Soul-Focused Discernment: Look beyond earthly metrics to truly see the people you’re called to serve. Let God shape each decision to meet real needs, not just surface goals. 3️⃣ Sacrificial Generosity: Give without expecting anything in return. Pour out freely, trusting that God will multiply what you’ve given in ways you might not see but that make an eternal impact. I’m committed to following Jesus’ example, working with a heart set on God’s mission. May every word, action, and decision bring us closer to His purpose and expand His kingdom. Have the gifts of prophesy/healing/tongues ceased? (are you a cessationist?) or do they continue? (are you a continuist?). WARNING: This is a rabbit hole and a poke-the-bear kind of topic.... @Angela Linville challenged me to broach this... so here we go 🐻 Like a lot of our spiritual growth, this topic might be a journey in and of itself to land on your stance on this... you may be on a continuum. Why is this important? I believe as we march toward end times and as we are in the Hebrew year of the Door, that the veil between the natural and spiritual is thinning and we are going to see more and more "signs and wonders" both from the dark and from the light (from God and not from God). I encourage you to get with God and our Bible and an open heart/mind on this. Here's one person who has done a deep dive on the topic-- it's a review/rebuttal of the documentary about cessationists (those who believe these gifts have ceased). I confess I have not watched the whole thing... but it seems to be a balanced and Biblical and gospel centered approach and possible a good starting point for you if you do not have an answer to this question or want to reaffirm or decide where you stand.
