Finding people in specific cities
What's up guys. Looking to see if anyone has any little tips or insights on a more efficient way to do this. So I'll be traveling around the country this year. I know a few people in Houston, NY, Miami, on & on, but to make the most of my time in these places I'm trying to make as many connections in each big city I'll be in as possible. My way of trying to do this so far has just been to go to either the people I already know, or the pages/posts for places I know are relevant to each city, going through followers/commenters & hitting up people I might want to connect with that look like they're from there. This is quite inefficient lol. It works, but I feel like there has to be a better way or ways I can at least improve what I'm doing. Typically for stuff like this my first go-to is Instagram because the messaging is smoother on there & usually I feel you can get more information about people on their IG pages than others, so I'll probably continue utilizing IG for this the most although they've recently made it more difficult to make new connections by allowing accounts to limit strangers to 1 request message like linkedin, as I'm sure you've all noticed. Any tips or ideas on how to improve this process in any way, or ideas on other ways to achieve this expanding network goal would be much appreciated. Thanks, ~ D

I'll usually try to find a way to scrape for artists based off google searches. So first, I might try something like "LA photographers/music videos Instagram" and see what pops up. From there, I'll go to the profile's posts and see who's tagged, or I"ll go through the comments/who there following to see if there's anyone I wanna network with. No set way to do it, but doing it consistently pays off!
Latency when recording
Hey guys I'd like to get as many opinions on this as possible. When I'm recording i can always hear myself with a delay in the headphones, making it sound like I'm off beat. I've found ways of getting good takes despite this but it still usually bothers me, especially when I first get back into the booth. My producer says most rappers like hearing themselves in the headphones and that I should get used to it. Do you guys have latency on your vocals when you record? If so does it throw you off? Thanks everyone!

you'll have to adjust your buffsize in your DAW to the point where it's latency is virtually 0 (your DAW most likely has a zero latency mode), while making sure your audio doesn't crackle/crash. Be sure to remove any additional programs while recording that may be taking up CPU power like google chrome
PreSaves
I've not used presaves as a marketing/promo tool before, do you think they work or not? Who has had a good presave launch. Presaves doesn't automatically mean they will listen. So im curious how to best use them for an effective outcome. Please share any experiences. Thanks

i don't recommend presaves as a focus for artists especially starting out because grabbing people's attention before your music is out isn't the most effective way to allocate your resources. i'd suggest focusing on your marketing efforts once the song is actually out
Development deal
Has anyone heard of a development deal where the record company offers a development deal for a fee? Is it a scam?

Not enough information to tell, who reached out?
Is A.I. a Bot or Not?
Has anyone heard of Wavr.AI playlist? Seems like if you get going on a certain service you may get some extra love from this playlist. I attached a copy of the playlist and a YouTube video of a playlist submission service review.by the people at Two Story. This may be old news to some but I had never heard of this. It’s definitely AI. https://youtu.be/svUNJrbn_Sw?si=JH6peT9mba7yWT1l
