Feedback and Suggestions for My Portfolio Website!
Hello everyone! Iโ€™ve recently updated my portfolio at webdevakash.com, built with Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Framer Motion. Iโ€™d love to get your feedback on the design, usability, and overall content. Also, Iโ€™m looking to add more features and sections. What do you think could enhance the site further? Any suggestions or critiques are welcome. Thank you!

Portfolio advice
Hello! What do you think about portfolios? What should they have? Like personal info and projects youโ€™ve worked on? Or must it be some pet project? I've faced the requirement of a portfolio many times when applying.

Absolutely, a great portfolio is like your professional storytelling platform. It should not only showcase the projects youโ€™ve worked on but also reflect your personal journey in the tech world. Including both team projects and your own pet projects can really show off your range - from collaboration and technical skills to your own initiative and passions. Itโ€™s all about giving potential employers a glimpse into what you've accomplished and what you're capable of in a way that feels both professional and personal.
Help Needed: Mastering Smooth State Updates in React!
I'm stuck with handling state updates in React when they depend on previous states, especially with rapid updates. How do you ensure accuracy with useState for smooth performance? Any tips?

Solvedโ˜บ๏ธ // Example of using functional updates with useState function Counter() { const [count, setCount] = useState(0); const handleIncrement = () => { setCount(prevCount => prevCount + 1); }; return <button onClick={handleIncrement}>Count: {count}</button>; } By passing a function to setCount that calculates the new state based on the old state, React can correctly sequence state updates, avoiding inconsistencies and ensuring the UI stays responsive.

What is worth more, changing direction and accept a lower salary but keeping up to date with the latest technology or stay in the same position with high salary but being stuck with the same technology and possibly not keeping up with the times.
I recently had to change my job, I was basically told it would be better to leave the current job. Although it came as a surprise, I accepted the challenge and started looking for a new job. I had many interviews, some wired, some wished they never happened, but I finally managed to get a job in one month and a half that I find really challenging and exciting. With this, I also changed directions, and chose a different path. Even if the salary is not similar with what I get right now, I find the new job more exciting and I am eager to start working and do new stuff. So the question is, is it worth it to keep doing the same things for years for fear of not getting the same salary or is it better to change things, to stay relevant and learn new things but maybe having to accept a lower salary at the beginning, but, at the same time, increasing both your chances of being hired and salary on long term?

Choosing newer tech at a lower salary could pay off in long-term growth and opportunities. It's about what aligns with your career goals and personal growth.
