Starting at Newquay doing surf science in a few days time. Anyone else going to be there? I would like to take some surf lessons as beginner level. Mahalo

Surf board transition
Hey, can I have some guidance on board transition pls? I feel like it’s time to buy my own board & transition from the foamie 6.6ft I’ve been mostly using here but there’s so much to consider & think about 🤯 Any recommendations and personal experiences/challenges you guys have faced, errors etc. other than the common early transition… I’m only 5ft so shorter & less width works better for me, as I struggled with the bigger foamies.. but I’m kinda getting stuck with the Litre capacity and the type of board/tail etc. Thank you x

Hey Yolanda, of course when I get a minute to sit down this weekend I will share some info and knowledge on board selection and some different boards that could work for you for sure! 👌🏼🏄

Something like this shape and volume you should go for Yolanda. I would go for the 6,8 one with 40ltres. https://downthelinesurf.co.uk/collections/beginner-surfboards/products/magic-carpet-the-genie-surfboard-pink?variant=46819863068958 Check this board out. Before buying a board, go to some surf shops and see if they have a hire board rail where you can try some boards similar to this or the one you want. Make sure you have a good amount of volume etc. Stick with a round or squash tail. More stability and less loose. You can always look at getting a custom board i have some good links to great board shapers here in the UK. So if you'd like to contact them and chat just let me know!
