Some of McKenna’s Favorite Words
He used both “concrescence” and “iridescence” in several of his talks. Here’s a great summary of both by ChatGPT Concrescence has various meanings depending on context: 1. Philosophical Context (Whitehead’s Process Philosophy) In Alfred North Whitehead’s philosophy, concrescence refers to the process by which an entity comes into being by integrating multiple pre-existing elements into a cohesive whole. Each new “actual occasion” (moment of experience) emerges through a process of concrescence, where it synthesizes influences from past experiences into a novel unity. 2. Biological Context In biology, concrescence refers to the growth or coalescence of parts that are originally separate, such as the fusion of embryonic tissues or the joining of bones. 3. Anthropological and Esoteric Context Terence McKenna, in his explorations of consciousness and time, used “concrescence” to describe the idea of increasing complexity and interconnectedness in human evolution and history, leading to a culminating point where all possibilities converge. Iridescence is the phenomenon where surfaces appear to change color depending on the angle of view or lighting. This shimmering effect is caused by light interacting with microstructures—often thin layers or fine patterns—resulting in interference, diffraction, or scattering. Natural Examples: • Peacock feathers: Microscopic structures reflect different wavelengths of light. • Soap bubbles: Thin films create colorful, shifting patterns. • Butterfly wings: Scales on the wings produce varying colors. • Oils on water: Light reflecting off multiple layers of oil causes interference patterns. Scientific Basis: Iridescence occurs due to: • Constructive and destructive interference: Light waves reflect and combine, enhancing or canceling different colors. • Microstructure variation: Layers or ridges reflect light differently at various angles. Applications: • Textiles: Special fabrics mimic iridescent effects. • Technology: Anti-counterfeiting measures in banknotes.

In a way culture is the basis of an iridescence of our human nature and forms the illusion of how our mind processes the reality we see in the same way our visual cortex processes the iridescent illusion and makes it feel real. It could help us to make the next evolutionary step in our civilization and be able to peacefully integrate all cultures and technologies and make it coherent for a common ideology for all humans while maintaining our tribalism instincts

In the end we all want to coexist peacefully and to progress to higher levels of enlightenment and cultural evolution is where we can make major advances with all the diversity of language and understanding being a cultural super space that can be used as a basis of development of higher order civilization
TMK and AI
Duncan Russell was playing around with the idea of giving his AI different voices and characteristics to respond to his inquiries, which led me to the idea that having the AI respond in the sound and sensibility of Terence. I already asked ChatGPT to write a short essay in the style of T on the topic of general AI and the conjunction of the discovery of alien co-habitation on earth and the reply was very poetic and interesting.

Nice that's awesome can we make a Terence McKenna AI how do we do it technically
Share Your McKenna Art
Share whatever kind of art you have created of Terence! I know many of you who have created amazing stuff before AI so please post them again, but since I'm mostly using AI that's what I'm going to share, sorry if that's controversial for some. Maybe include what kind of method you used for creating the art. Happy sharing!

@Libbie Grant cool I have been also wondering about this being the singularity and based on Terence McKenna novelty theory it does make sense if we consider the irrational side of the universe as some type of dark energy that can warp cultures like ours.

@Libbie Grant cool I'll check it out!
Just getting started
This is very early on but I wanted to send out invitations to all the long-time McKennites who have been in the original Facebook group, and to some folks on Reddit, but eventually I will build this up into a very informative place for anyone interested in Terence's ideas. Thanks for joining, feel free to post anything!
