I remember someone mentioning it was good in educational sense... But are they good for your portfolio? Even if you don't win anything? Has anyone here won anything? A medal, or maybe even some money?
I think those are more for educational purposes, those are pretty much like hackathons so if you do win those will definitely be good for your portfolio, and some of them also give job opportunities if you win
Just want to say that so far i am really learning from this community and I really appreciate its push towards practicing and showing your work to others. I haven't seen this anywhere else.
Python is great for data analysis because it has many useful tools. R is good for statistics, but Python works better for more tasks, so if you are choosing which one to learn I'd recommend python
@Endowed Matthew For the platforms I'd recommend kaggle.com or just youTube, but the best way to learn would be build projects, get some basic understanding of the language and try to build smth that interests you
