Thumbnails
I was very bummed to click through to thumbnail experts and hear "I used to spend many hours editing videos and 10 minutes on thumbnails, and now I spend lots of time on thumbnails." That lipstick seems to be very important, and I am not sure I have ANY expertise or feel after watching about 1.5 hours of YT videos on it this morning about what makes good thumbnails. Any thoughts?

I take snapshots of specific scenes I think look catchy or relevant to the episode during the editing process. Then I either upload that image to Midjourney as a reference to make something more interesting, or I alter the contrast, color, brightness, etc. to make it stand out. Then add text if it must have it. Midjourney can take something like 30 minutes. So I do that simultaneously while editing. I can also go watch a movie and continue to work on that and just add the thumbnail later if its scheduled vs. Immediate drop. Adjusting the picture quality usually takes me less than 5 minutes. But on average, my thumbnails take no more than 10 minutes total. I think people put way too much thought into them. If you want to get creative cut out the object you are wanting the focus on and have AI generate a catchy backdrop. Then add the important stuff on top. Let A.I. do the work for you.
Live Streaming
Who's live streams? Or has done so in the past? What tools do you like? Any tips for first-timers? I'm going to be starting a regular IG live stream inviting people to watch how my releases are made, assuming my van wifi works well enough 😬. I'd love to make things feel as unique to my framing as possible.

I recommend figuring out your opening. I've done a couple in the past, and the opening is always the hiccup for me. Also, watch a private live stream of yours from your phone to make sure the audio and everything is there. My very first ever live stream was an hour of silence. Fortunately, only 1 person joined... OBS Studio is great for live streaming.

There is a topic I encountered on X about setting it up so you are hearing your own voice while live streaming. I've had first hand experience with this before. I couldn't figure out how to set it up so I can hear both myself and the content I was recording. But it made talking significantly easier. I was able to better control my tone, volume, energy, provided more confidence, eliminated any awkwardness, etc. Just couldn't figure out the settings to use it effectively.

Welcome to the group. Just country or a mix like country rock?

@Houston Bernard I like the song. The video reminds me of late 1990's or early 2000's which was a nice touch. Gives that nostalgia feeling for some reason.
Energetic Voice
Any advice on how to sound more energetic during recording? It has got to be my biggest critique of myself lately. I feel like I'm more energetic while recording, and at times I am, just short lived. But during the editing I find myself... bored. For lack of a better word. And the source seems to be more with my vocal energy. It could also be that I have already played it, so it's not "new" for me. I wish I was like jacksepticeye with his... toddler energy. No idea how he does it, but it's impressive. But then there are others who do not exhibit high energy, but I find very entertaining such as Fooster, who I've taken inspiration from for my channel. I'm either missing something or trying to travel the incorrect path. Right now I'm feeling quite blind. I've tried following my usual advice I give others that I have read works of pre-game practices where I hype myself up. Doesn't seem to work for me. Fades after about 10 minutes. I'm plenty energetic when talking to people face to face. Less so when talking to my computer. I've toyed with doing live streams, but this concept keeps me from going that route. Plus the additional issue where I sometimes struggle to figure out what to talk about when I've finished narrating what I'm currently doing.

@Dillan Taylor Captivating! That's the key word I need to focus on. I need to work on captivation. That's why Fooster is so entertaining. He has a very captivating way of talking. I'll have to look these other people up and take notes. I don't think I've ever heard of any one of them. Thanks.

Content Creator on YT. My content is mostly geared towards survival style gameplay, but I also enjoy a good story or horror game. Preferably the 3 mix
