Mind movie
Hi everyone! Just thought I'd share my mind movie, especially for those just starting who may not have one yet. I just took Luca's and changed things, to avoid my creative brain from getting carried away (it's the impression that's important not the aesthetic details), and in part I'm sharing so you can see how easy it is to just grab the template and change a few things and get using it! So there are a few things I don't pay so much attention to, but left them in for fun (like the "Fuck social media I'm dope in real life"🤣). It's on YouTube (my video platform is not working properly) so they might take it down for copyright (even though it's unlisted) as I've put some music on it - like the appropriate Search for the Hero by M People - so watch it soon if you want to. The other thing is I have been using it from Google Slides and putting YouTube on in the background (I have premium so no ads, but you can use your owned music/sub. I decided to put it together as a video, clipping the music so it chimed with particular parts of the deck. It's easy enough to do in a free video editing tool (I used iMovie). But I've been using it for some time as I described, separately. Let's see yours so we can cheer you on! Here's mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpShjRvIkjE

@Rupessh Nahhar Not sure on the new platform, this was Luca's SAM's founder, on the old Kajabi platform. I can probably dig it out and share it, or we can see what the admins think/can do
Value post
Needing feedback @Bruno Morris and everyone please 😊⁣

I want the training - "grow a butt" has been on my goal list for years 🤣🤣 I'm currently doing 100 vertical hip thrusts and it's having some effect but more info would be great!
Engagement record - 226 & counting! [edit: 424 reactions]
Had to share this. Yesterday I wrote a version of something I posted on my personal profile, in a group, customising it for said group. It took less than 5 minutes to write. Here's a screenshot of the reactions so far. When I went to bed it was 110, then I woke up to this. And it was still rising as I wrote this. My previous record was 76, which blew my mind... Here's the post, by the way: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1218325365682336/posts/1319934098854795/ If I can do it so can anyone! Let's go!! Step up and let your voice be heard (like the post, don't force it, let go!!)

Book recommendation - selling (serving)
What is the point of selling? To buy. So we are not selling. We are helping people buy. Big distinction, which is why I highly recommend this book by an acquaintance of mine, Jeffrey Lipsius. It's written as a story so easy to read. It really sums up my own approach all my life. I learnt sales at uni but have never considered myself a salesman. In my software business I hired a number of sales people, even companies. None of them sold. At best, they passed leads to me and I got the business. By being me, passionate about what I do and genuinely having the client's best interests at heart. That's why (along with all the work I have done on self-confidence and, of course, inner peace) I am confident that once I book a serve call, almost all will join my programme. So in my case I spend more time at the pre-qualification stage (DMs and maybe a Triage call) and book less calls. By applying these principles - becoming a decision coach for your potential clients - you can do the same. Good luck and let me know what you think of the book! 💪💪 https://www.amazon.com/Selling-Point-Because-Information-Demands/dp/0996475907

Hi Erik, thanks for taking the time to comment in detail. It's clearly difficult to sum up a complex issue like this in so few words, but in any case I don't think we disagree on the fundamentals. I couldn't possibly disagree, for example, with this being about "helping people overcome something, achieve something, and feel something (ideally mindfully)". That is at the heart of the word "decision coach". At the end of the day, we are helping them through the process of what to do about the challenge they face or the desire they have. You may disagree with the focus, but what is the point of selling if it is not for customers to buy what you're offering? And if we are determined to sell regardless of whether the customer actually want or needs it, that is hardly ethical, or effective, long term. That is the point of the book, and it is actually based on work with Tim Galloway and the Inner Game of Tennis, the ground-breaking mindset model from the 70s which has been applied to business ever since. I would also argue that most people here are not selling the sort of compulsive purchases that you are talking about - the closest thing that might fit here might be therapy and I don't believe there are any here. And I'm sure you don't think I believe it's ethical to exploit compulsive buying behaviours. I would never use those words with clients anyway and only ever to shift the focus from us to the client - a perspective shift which is essential if we are to generate rapport and genuinely serve. And if we don't genuinely feel we *can* serve our potential clients, then we clearly need to do a lot of work before getting in front of them! Of course people have a problematic relationship with money, I have for most of my life. So I don't quite know where you're coming from there, especially given my last point - we need to address our mindset before we even think about "sales". But it's always great to have these debates as it helps us all clarify what's happening in our minds and see other perspectives. I believe all the reactions we get from people are actually the result of non-conscious projections being received back to us for our feedback and so learning and growth, but I won't go down a spiritual rabbit hole now!
Setting Client Boundaries
I wanted to get feedback regarding people that want access to you, but they haven't paid for any services from you. How do you handle it tactfully without them feeling let down or disinterested? For example, there's someone that is trying to get me to text them via Whatsapp. How do you create boundaries with those that are not paying clients, but still leave them feeling like they are getting something?

I'd just add that a major reason this happens in the first place is, as Bruno keeps reminding us, mindset, and, perhaps more importantly, heartset - how you feel about yourself and your value. I have struggled with this a lot: when you don't value yourself enough (imposter syndrome), you feel you have to give to compensate, *especially* to people who are not clients yet as you have more to prove to them. Combined with the lack of boundaries, this creates overwhelm and stress. When we are not valuing ourselves enough, we project that onto people the feeling that we need to give more and so that is why we have that experience. This goes beyond even heartset and into "spirit set" as we are talking about energy and the Law of Attraction. I have found that as I value myself more and learn to expect others to do the same, this happens less. So you will find that, while you need to be clear about what you're prepared to do and not (boundaries) you don't even need to tell people about them because you are projecting them and people will pick up on this at a non-conscious level. I learnt this long before getting into coaching, with my English students. Where before I would let people cancel on my with no notice and not charge them, for example, when I started charging monthly, people started paying it willingly even if they weren't able to come - just like any other monthly sub, like a gym. This was partly as I was attracting better clients. I confess I still have an issue with comment marketing and DM conversations, where I get too invested, because of my desire to serve not sell 😅 (it's kind of reflected in this long comment!) and that is my particular goal to work on this week, so I can have more conversations. But my comments always get amazing feedback, so in a sense I'm focussing on quality rather than quantity. So it's a balance. The important thing is to work on projecting confidence (through actually believing, or at least fake it till you make it) which I can guarantee will stop people asking for something for nothing! And leave you much more at peace - actually, you will already be more at peace and that's why this stuff works! The calm and confident energy is projected...

@Stefano Casini or that they are not ready to commit to change. It is our job to be a decision coach (not a sales person). If they are genuinely not ready (or do not have the money) it will not be a good fit anyway. They will not do the work if they are not fully committed. They may even drop out and/or ask for a refund (which we should only do, of course, if they *have* done the work. (That itself makes it important to have a process in place to track these things, no matter how simple.) We can take them quite a long way on the serve call - and SAM has some great strategies to do this - but ultimately we have to be sensitive to the customer and help them make the decision that is best for them. That, ultimately, is the best for us too, for the reason I've just given. I know we're not talking about the serve call here, but the general asking, but the same principle applies. I'm going to post separately a book recommendation on selling (serving).
