Quick update
Hope everyone’s been practicing hard and vibing! I’ve been bed ridden sick for the past two weeks and hopefully next week we start recovering. I planned on jumping into the next feedback system right away but life is outplaying me atm. If I get better by early this week we’ll be doing our first feedback session on Saturday Nov 30th 7am AEST in the new zoom format :) Start of January I’ll be putting in a full time schedule into streaming, content and this community and we’ll have a good 3 months till my event schedule cranks up again. Missing jamming for y’all! Hopefully I’m back to at least 50% this week.

Truly the craziest thing happened
I’m at a work offsite with 25 colleagues. We’re at a hotel in the mountains of Serbia and a freak snowstorm hit. Our evening event included a live band but only the drummer and bass player made it up the mountain. The other half of the band got stranded along the way. The hotel has an electric piano in the lobby so I offered to play the piano and sing. We ended up playing a full set of 12 songs. My coworkers joined in on a bunch of them. I am not really at a performing level with my piano so I leaned on the vocals and just tried to focus on the rhythm with the piano. My coworkers were super impressed (and seemed to enjoy it) and I had a blast. Here’s a brief clip. People joined in singing (approx 15 seconds into video)

I’m loving your win streak Brad! This is so amazing!
I need your help!
Going forward I’ll be testing a new Q&A format, we’ll be doing same style as feedback Friday you’ll submit videos but we’ll be in a private zoom group call and upload the video after I’m curious what the best day/time is for everyone for our Q&A sessions, please vote on what’s a good time for you.

@Brad Simon perfect 👌
Aint no sunshine before audition
Hey guys, been kind of unactive in the community lately but I’m back. Today we were rehearsing my performance for the Berklee audition which is this Saturday. Was hoping to get some feedback on the performance and if you have any suggestions, I will take them into account.

I was thinking of you today and just saw the post! I was like man I hope he crushes his audition! Sending you lots of good vibes and have the best time. Make sure to learn as much as you can from the audition.

I spoke to Simon before and after the audition apparently he did great 😊 big congrats to him and Nacho taking the next step! We’ll wait for Simon to chat about it with us on a stream or for something fun coming up ;)
Vocal mic question
I currently use a Shure SM57 for my vocal mic (while playing the acoustic guitar). I find that I need to be right on top of the mic for good sound. I'd like to sing a few inches from the mic and have a little bit of freedom to move around while playing and singing. Plus when I use my ipad for lyrics/chords it's really hard to read the ipad while playing the guitar and need to be right on top of the mic. (Yes, I know, I should learn the songs better and ditch the ipad. That will happen eventually. But in the meantime....) If I have more gain (say, using a cloudlifter) will that let me back away a few inches from the mic? Or is it better just to get a different mic? And if the latter, what mic? I'd use this setup playing live and at home. Thanks!

@Brad Simon it’s so good, my vocal coach recommended it back in the day but I wasn’t focussed on improving that part of my set up back then. It makes a huge difference when you’re ready for it.
