Endorsement Process
Hello All, Trust you are doing great. If anyone can share how to start the endorsement process that would be great. I am not sure if an email only would suffice and is there anything more into it. Kindly advise

Thanks alot that's really helpful. Although I don't have the relevant 5 years of experience yet I was hoping to match it given the following: 1- My 3 years current role in cybersecurity (my current employer - CISSP holder- can endorse me but needs to know what steps is needed for such endorsement which is not clear to me as well if you can advise on that ) 2- SANS certificate (GSEC and GCIH) 3- Computer science graduate (I am not sure that counts) 4- My previous role out of Cybersecurity was technical support and as a remote DBA ( again not sure if that counts). Appreciate your feedback!

@Chris Harmon Yes it pretty much match with the first 4 domains. My previous job matches some of the other domains (operational side of things not specific to security). I will starting by asking for endorsement and see where it goes from there. I really appreciate sharing your experience.

Can't believe it but...
I passed today! It's difficult to summarize the exam experience. I've scheduled it thinking "OK, I'm confident on about 80% of the content, so I should be able to do some damage control on the 20% left". CISSP exam from the 3rd question until the end : "So, let's talk about those 20% 😏" Even with the knowledge, it was sometimes (often) completely impossible for me to rationally select an answer, as if knowledge was necessary but not sufficient. If it happens to you, don't give up and trust your intuition. Study strategies I've found useful : 1. Being part of this community, where I've been feeling supported and valued. Hello @Vincent Primiani 🙂 2. The awesome and comprehensive study sessions @Josh Botz 3. Books I used and loved : Destination CISSP ebook (super useful to understand quickly a lot of content), All-in-One CISSP exam guide (super useful to go into greater detail) 4. Learnzapp for the practice questions and practice tests, really a good training for the exam 5. Taking the CC exam. Thanks to @Clifford Jenkins and @Jon Brown for suggesting that.

@M B this specific question was confusing . I remember choosing all but the fire suppression until I understood its an on prem business so people will be the highest priority

Cipher modes
I was studying the cipher modes today. Here is what I learnt; CBC-MAC is mainly used for integrity, authenticity; CCM,GCM provides authenticity, integrity and confidentiality; CTR, CFB,OFB, CBC,ECB provides confidentiality.

CBC should be avoided as it propagates errors in chaining

@Clifford Jenkins It feels great . Hope all the best for everyone. My advice is not to rush things but as one colleague mentioned here before once you feel comfortable go for it. I feel the peace of mind really helped me go through the exam without the stress of failing and paying another 749 USD as I went with the mentality that it's just another practice exam but I didn't use my second attempt
