Sometimes the Holy Spirit talks to me while I am doing something mundane like washing up! Does anyone else find that? For about a year or 2 , I was having heated discussions with God the Father about not wanting to be a speech therapist because I have been doing it for 30 odd years. But every time I prayed about it, the answer was clear " I want you to help people everywhere to communicate better". No matter what excuses I made like "I'm tired" or "I'm old!" He was not having any of it!! Then a month ago I was approached by a recruiter to apply for a post that was paying 4-5 times my current income as a private practice owner. So I said to God and laid down a fleece, I will apply and be obedient if you give me an interview you will be with me and give me the job if it is right for me. The thing is , the job involves me to travel by ferry and car which is costly but the salary would more than cover that and more. But I struggled during the interview with some of the questions and I said a quick prayer of 'help' and he said " Be yourself. You don't have to be like them!" You see as a speech therapist, I thought I wasn't good enough because I wasn't white and middle class. I gave my answer and I got the job even though I was convinced I wouldn't!! God the Father disciplined me through my disobedience and 'talking back', Jesus held my hand during the interview and the Holy Spirit gave me the words....3 personalities in one!
