I am absolutely blessed beyond measure at this stage in my life. Upon returning back to the states from Chiang Mai as the crazy stuff started, I landed a fantastic job. I was laid-off (mass layoff) from that job but then immediately was hired for an even better position doing the SAME thing for a much higher salary. I thank the stars every single day that since I must wait until retirement age before I can come back to Thailand, at least I am doing what I love, and the company treats me well. A mentor from way back in my young life told me this: "Find your passion and you will find your path". He was spot-on. Very similar to the sentiments expressed above! If you haven't been so blessed, then hang in there and stay open to whatever things might be around the corner!~
I've been sick... and it's got me thinking...
Just wanted to share a bit about my week. I've been under the weather and it's fucking sucked. Normally, I'm all about moving forward and keeping busy. But this illness (I say illness... flu... cold... whatever...) forced me to hit the brakes. And I'll be honest, it's been tough. I found myself getting frustrated for being sick. Like I was somehow failing by not being 100% all the time. But here's the thing... We often forget that it's okay to slow down. Especially when your body is screaming for a break. This week made me realise how harsh we can be on ourselves. We're not machines. Health isn't just another item on our to-do list. It's the foundation of everything we do. So here's my takeaway... Next time life forces you to pause, try not to fight it. Use that time to recharge and reflect. Your body and your business will thank you. Would love to hear if any of you have experienced something similar. Feel free to share your stories. Stay healthy and keep hustling, but don't forget to listen to your body.

I've had a couple of knock downs myself in the month of November. From a couple of medical scares/wakeups to dousing myself accidentally with petrol whilst filling the tank on my truck, slipping on the oily mess and breaking my elbow (that's a story there!) and now in rehabilitation and therapy, all while continuing to do my online job to keep money coming in...life does seem to throw us for a loop sometimes. You'll be on the mend soon enough, sir! Tell that boss of yours to go f*** himself and take some time off!

@Jason Verney Hey! Nice to meet you! I am one of his BOD's too, of course haha I follow all the good Thailand expat vloggers, daily, since I first decided to move to Thailand. Picked up some great advice prior to my arrival and it made settling in so much easier. Of course, once the crazy stuff happened, my retirement visa was running out and I was stuck out in the US, where I remain stuck until I pull the trigger and come back. What's your story?🙂
What do you do in your downtime?
When we're not hustling and grinding, how do we recharge? I'm curious to know what you do in your downtime.

I like to do acrylic painting. I did this nearly every morning when I was living in Chiang Mai. Very relaxing. I also watch documentaries and old classic movies and explore YouTube videos.
24 Hour Coffee/Coworking in Chiang Mai
Hello everyone! I’m wanting to get thoughts and opinions on what y’all think about a 24 hour coffee shop/coworking space in Chiang Mai. I’m looking to open up a coffee shop in Chiang Mai in 2024 but I’d like to make it more than just coffee. With a massive digital nomad presence in the city I’m thinking that a 24 hour spot would be something that folks may like and enjoy. Thanks for your suggestions!!

There are several 24 hour coworker spots already in Chiang Mai. Google in google maps and you will see a handful. The co-living space seems like you might have a captive audience, so to speak, a one-stop shop. Know however that business is likely to be a bit seasonal. Jumping like crazy during high season, desolate during burning times. Prepare accordingly!
Merry Christmas 🎅
Hope you're all revved up for the festive season! Just wanted to drop a quick note to say a big thanks for being a part of our community this year. You've all been incredible! Reflecting on the fantastic progress we've seen from several members this year, next year is set to be just as transformative. Many of you will be exploring new countries, starting your own businesses, and making life-altering decisions. I can't wait to see what we'll achieve together in the New Year. Merry Christmas, everyone!
