Debate Club Announcement (and this week's topics)๐ข
Hey everyone! I hope you're all having a wonderful week! I want to let you know that I've made some changes to our weekly Debate Club. From now on, we will have a limit of 8 members per session so if you're interested in joining, just comment your interest belowโfirst come, first served! Each week, we'll be diving into five thought-provoking topics that will challenge your thinking and spark some lively discussions (we may only do 4 depending on how fast we go). I'll introduce these topics ahead of time, giving you the opportunity to research, practice, and refine your arguments before the debate. Hereโs what you need to know: - First 8 to comment their interest will secure a spot in the debate. - I'll be introducing 5 topics each week for you to prepare. - Debates are held weekly, so there will be plenty of opportunities to participate. - Please on time and ready to engage if you claim a spot! - Please have your camera on if possibleโthis helps with making the debate more engaging and entertaining. Looking forward to seeing who steps up to the challenge. Remember that this is an excellent opportunity to practise your spoken English while building confidence and connecting with other learners like you. I know some of you have asked for the Debate Club topics in advance so from now on I will announce them three days before so it gives you plenty of time to think of your answers. This week's Debate Club topics are: - Is social media more harmful than beneficial to society? - Is it more important to be smart or to be kind? - Is it better to be a child or an adult? - Is it more fun to watch movies at home or in a theater? - Is it better to give a gift or receive one? Letโs make this a fun and dynamic space for all of us to improve our English skills! Comment below to claim your spot! ๐ฃ๏ธ See you there! Teacher Dave
