when you say POD are you referring to a POD market places like redbubble , zazzle or merch by amazon, tee public, facebook market place, tpop, etsy. You have no ownership of your customer on market places or your store . Or are you integrating a pod onto shopify through an app. I started doing T-shirt designs on Canva and placing them on Zazzle but it is a lot of work and from what I have researched you need a lot of designs to get traction and sales. Every design slogan has to be checked for copyright / trade mark clashes You can end up in trouble with market place providers if you use a trademark or even a song lyric (by mistake) . it can be attractive to use a popular selling t shirt design but other competitors may be violating a trade mark. Example using a character from Disney, Star Wars, Marvel super heros, or a movie line like that's not a knife this is a knife. You will see other's doing this but one day they will wake up with either a non functioning market place store or with a letter from a big corporate claiming damages for copyright infringement . Even if you win the court costs can be huge. You have to be very careful not to infringe on copyright if you do the designs .
