Is there any way of paying HMRC tax owed or monthly mortgage payments or car lease via Amex? I know the latter normally want a direct debit but was wondering if there’s an alternative or a legit way round this?

Ive just earned 8,550 avios for £126 how you might ask? So me and 7 friends are climbing mount snowdown in wales and have booked a lodge for the 7 of us for 2 nights at £126 each Using the avios rewards app Hotels.com is currently 10 avios per £1 so I've booked through that using other peoples money to rack up 8,550 points for a purchase i was going to make anyway. To add onto this amount will be 855 points from my credit card which is 1 avios per £1 spent totalling at 9,405.
