Completed Video!
Editing definitely took longer than I anticipated and my CapCut timeline looked different than Trevor's? Was it because I was in my "spaces"?

Yeah I've got to agree with the others - the repetition at the beginning made me think it was an editing error (guess if I've done that before! šŸ‘€). Also each point is stated then explained then repeated. I'd try to tighten this up a bit more and I LOVE Dave Wallace's suggestion of walking around while filming. Adds a bit of motion & activity to it which would not just keep our interest but also make us curious to SEE what you're talking about. Really enjoyed the info!
In a restaurant
OK, here is one of my shorts. Here is English translation: A man walked into a restaurant and ordered a beer. "Here you go, sir, the beer is one euro." "Only one euro?" the man repeated. He looked at the menu and asked, "And how much would a Wiener schnitzel and a bottle of wine cost?" "Two euros," the waiter replied. "Two euros?" the man repeated. "Could you tell me where the owner of this restaurant is?" The waiter looked at him and said, "Upstairs, with my wife." The man asked, "And what is he doing up there with your wife?" "The same thing Iā€™m doing down here with his restaurant." https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dm1JclAQP-k

@Ken King Funny - I just booked a hotel in Puerto Rico 20 mins ago, for a night at the end of a caribbean cruise in January. Too bad I don't have more time there - it would have been nice to meet up and talk about all things YouTube.
Day 7: Video post
Ok someone's got to go first so here I go. Here's my video - a few modifications to the thumbnail & title thanks to all of you. Overall, this process feels much more organized. Current CTR is 9.1%, which is high for my channel. Looking forward to your feedback!

@Vlado Krajčinović Thanks for watching. I filmed most of it in 4K but I rendered the video in 2K. The B roll clips are also high def but not 4K. I'm struggling like crazy with space on my macbook. Sometimes I only have 10GB left and I think I've stripped as much as I can off the hard drive...any suggestions on that would be greatly appreciated!!

@Ken King I recently pulled off about 25GB onto a stick but my hard drive just seems to keep filling up. I've deleted the cache that CapCut always creates but I'm beginning to suspect there's some random backup happening somewhere else that isn't getting purged properly.
How to interpret youtube stats
No one has ever showed me how to interpet my stats. I know there are million videos on it. Don't want to go down that rabbit hole. What stats are important ? Which ones are a. Indicator that a channel might eventually end to attracting a potential client? If I can't generate business from my channel I have no interest in creating content.

This is a good question and Trevor actually addressed this in his newsletter post yesterday. In it, he said, "... there's a lot, but the 2 things that matter most are: Average View Duration (AVD) and Click Through Rate (CTR). Monitor those at least weekly and work to improve them. You can look at your past videos and see what has worked best, then duplicate and improve on that."

@Ken King well I think that's part of the issue with this stuff - no one quite wants to share their numbers (other than Trevor ha ha), so who knows if we each have good CTR or RPM or AVD and on top of that, I suspect it varies greatly, depending on the type of videos you do or the theme of your channel.
Channel promotion
I'm curious what kind of promoting you guys do for your YT channel. I mention it to almost everyone I talk to (yes, even the customer service rep for my bank when I called them today...), I have cards printed that I give to anyone who utters the words, "wow...I'll have to check it out"...and I have a Facebook group that I started with the hope that it would grow and get me some subscribers (it has...slowly). What do you all do?

I use Linktree and have it on my IG & TT platforms. Sometimes I'll create a teaser, other times, it's just different content but it gives them a way to see my long-form content since I don't do shorts on my YT channel anymore. I also post video links to my personal YT page and get some views from there. I have a website and blog rarely but it's also a source of traffic. I figure it all helps a little bit here and there.

@Ken King I've flirted with that idea but frankly, it's tough enough coming up with content every week. Adding that to it might push me over the edge.
