Putting this on ice - WhatsApp
Hello! I am starting the next phase of life being deliberate around a few things - which is why I am putting this community on ice. I want to make things easier - for both of us - and one aspect is to meet you where you're at - which is why I believe WhatsApp is a good place.. If you want to be part of a WhatsApp group where we have a daily interaction, including a simple tip on how to communicate with power, be a person of influence and the like, then please do this: email nima@finding-nima.com or reply to this as long as you reply before the end of play on Wednesday the 20th. Here's to being your brilliant self.

Introduce Yourself! (Start Here 🔥)
Hello! Welcome to the Communicate Academy 📣 This community helps experts, entrepreneurs, and founders get the tools and support needed, so that they're known for their expertise, raise their profile, and earn more. Remember, what you know = Opportunity + Income ONLY if you're known for it. Step 1: Introduce yourself below! (✄ copy/paste template 👇) Where are you from? What are you working on? What immediate help do you need? Step 2: Discover How to Unlock all the Classroom Resources NB this community is a newborn. I will be adding to the Classroom as I go along. I didn't want to get things all 'done', and have you wait! Where's the 'community' in that ;) ? ------------- Best practices in this community: • Level up by posting insights and thoughtful comments. (You know, 'communicate'). • Help others level up by liking 👍 good posts and comments. • Be kind • If you need help, just ask the community 💪

Good day everyone: Where are you from? Lebanon and Canada. What are you working on? Transitioning into a wellness oriented business path and solopreneur. What immediate help do you need? Keeping abreast of communications best practices and storytelling skills as well as youtube/video creation.
Hello! I'd love your help in shaping my "known for" statement
Hello everyone, I'm Co-Founder of OneUpOneDown, a company building software that matches women into highly relevant mentorship relationships, with each match lasting 3-months. I wear a few other hat too. After going around in circles trying to land on an all encompassing "what I want to be know for" statement, I have come up with something simple: I want to be know for delivering world-leading mentor-matching software for women-focused communities and organisations. What do you think? Is this clear and compelling?

@Natalie Robinson great succinct statement. The significance of mentorship can be underestimated if one hasn’t had that privileged experience of being a mentee. Perhaps a thought to consider: stating something to the effect that mentorship is a lever in cultivating confidence, as well as communication and leadership skills in women.
Communicating about a conflict / issue
Hello :) I've recently joined the community. I had a thought that's been looming around conflict/issue communication and managing the flow on how the receiver is viewing/hearing the communication. Ie. Ensuring it's about the message and not the receiver. It's common for a receiver to think it's about the person and not the situation at hand. The question is around how to avert personal tension? How to ensure the relationship with the person is not compromised as a result of addressing a topic/issue head on

What I’m challenged by is that the nature of the relationship is fragile; ie neighbours. It’s a ‘forever’ type of relationship; we are all owners therefore no one is going to be leaving anytime soon (not that I’m insinuating that!) but I’m learning how to handle a relationship(s) that I haven’t had to before, so I’m navigating this space. What I hope to achieve is the following: stand my ground ie. be agreeable but only to a certain point 2) point out logical things that the other person may not have thought of 3) balance the above without any emotionally-charged response /ie. in a manner that the other person doesn’t perceive it as an attack (when it isn’t at all)

Yes, for now the situation has been resolved by having distance / time ; but the situation was not 100% clarified verbally… I’m debating whether it’s necessary to revisit it or park it and move on. Most importantly I was assertive with my point and didn’t go against something that was important to me. The situation involved a neighbour and a common unit on the property. All in all for now it’s at hand. And maybe one day when the time is right, we can go back and clarify each others’ points when it’s less emotionally charged (she brought a lack of experienced contractor to fix something without telling me; his price was more than the professional expert, which we needed to bring in the end, because my problem wasn’t fixed by the first. Which meant we ended up paying double, and I wasn’t consulted first when she brought the first guy- I was just stuck with the bill).
