I found 1 !!!
After 4 years of searching I've finally managed to get hold of a PRE-FACELIFT Carbon Fibre bonnet/hood & included is a standard size Carbon Fibre scoop . Yes I know it needs quite the amount of love ā¤ļø in terms of sanding and clear-coat/lacquer, but there's no cracks , splits , or holes to contend with ..... & it was in my eyes an absolute steal . The seller had relisted time & time again on ebay with a note in their description that if it didn't sell then they'd bring it with them to Ireland when they moved here , so I messaged and said "keen to buy if bringing to Ireland" , and what do you know they messaged me yesterday afternoon to say it's in Roscommon Ireland šŸ˜€. So I contacted my buddy Marcus & proposed a little road trip into the south , and we drove to collect last night. Currently the bonnet/hood is residing in my spider shed awaiting resto & to be installed on my 93 when I complete its next phase . šŸ˜€šŸ˜€šŸ˜€ P.s in the future (probably distant) I will update with photos of the resto results & once installed.

@Marcus Lindenbaur there's no manufacturer details to be found , so potentially it could be a 1 off , or maybe the details were on a sticker that's peeled away . The fitting hardware for the scoop is not the same as factory but its all in the same locations & the holes in the hood are identical to factory so you can install an og subaru scoop & grill/vents . When I Google any variation on "subaru pre-facelift impreza wrx sti 92-95 92-96 v1 v2 v3 carbon fibre bonnet hood" (by any variation I mean I've tried several hundred attempts) the only results I get are facelift bonnets or pre-facelift aluminium or steel . So if no-one else knows who made these back in the day I'll probably never find out it's origins šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Keen to hear thoughts on these.. mid vs big wing. I'm starting to like the mid size better tbh

I'm a fan of the mid-wing on the prefacelift "early" gc8's
Sad times šŸ˜ŖšŸ˜„šŸ˜¢šŸ˜
OK so the worst has happened. I knew this time would come eventually as my wrx is 30 years old at 150,000ish kilometres. At some point I believe this happens to all subarus so I was prepared , it still smarts though . A couple of days ago I was doing an oil change in preparation for a big subaru run with a couple of my local subaru clubs joining forces. Upon inspection of the oil post drain , I have found some ultra fine metal particulate, not alot (not that quantity really matters) but it's there all the same . I assume this means my big end bearing shells are wearing & as I don't fancy shooting a rod through my closed deck ej20g , I shall have to decommission the_predator_gc8 until I can have a rebuild done . Gutted šŸ™„šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Øā˜¹ļø So in a bid to raise funds for the build I shall be liquidating some parts I had stashed up for a bugeye install in the future , there's a few gems šŸ’Ž hidden in my shed that I'll get photographed and listed in the "fo sale" section Until then I'll get back to crying like a baby šŸ‘¶ šŸ˜¢. Laters ..... Dan

@Matthew Fraser I nearly bought a waggon (gf8) a couple of months back .... in retrospect I should have .
So many 22b's in Ireland (Northern)
Originally I'm from England a subaru fan since the mid 1990s & I moved to Northern Ireland 10 years ago , at that time having never seen a 22b in person ever. Well low & behold it would appear that Ireland would be home to a whole lot of 22b's & subsequently over the last few years as my network of contacts in the Irish subaru world has grown I've been lucky enough to see quite a few of them in the flesh. From the Portrush easter cruise to some invite only runs & meets & even getting to visit the famous "Ali Burrows motorsport" 22b restoration facility several times ... I've now seen a total of 8 separate genuine 22b imprezas . I haven't managed to photograph all of them & some photos I cannot find (maybe a foolish delete). This year I also saw my first 22b in England at the *Roger Clark Motorsport facility in Hinckley (but that's another story). *RCM šŸ˜€. Attatched are some photos I managed to get of the cars including 1 mid resto at Ali's & 1 due for resto plus a couple spotted in the wild so to speak . First up is the KG motorsport car owned by kieron Graffin spotted parked up at the Portrush easter cruise, this is the first 22b I ever saw.

@Hayden Litt it needs to be Northern Ireland if you like hanging on to your money šŸ¤£
1993 WRX saloon/sedan
Bought as a resto project during 2020 covid lockdown, this is how it happened. I had a small pile of money from sales of my morette headlight collection burning a hole in my pocket & I put a flippant kind of throw away bid of Ā£2100 on an ebay listing "fire & forget" (I did this on multiple listings) . 3 weeks later I had a message in the inbox saying "the winning bidder never replied & neither have the 6 bidders above you , if you want the car it's yours for your original bid"... I said yes. I flew from Northern Ireland to Birmingham England the next day & collected the car , it looked a lot more tired and trashy than the ebay listing appeared but I could see the potential in it. As the sun was going down I made my way to my parents house in North Wales... with no headlights šŸ˜¬ but from Welshpool to Dolgellau the moon was bright and i had the soundtrack of the ej20g burble . The next morning after a good night's rest I set off to holyhead anglesea to get the ferry to Dublin Ireland , approx 3 hours at sea & I was in Dublin. The car made it to Loughbrickland in northern Ireland before I decided to make the call that the temp was rising and I wanted to save the engine, so I called the AA for a lift the rest of the way. Once home the restoration began within days , I've de-facelifted the car back to its original 93 front end , replaced every lamp/light unit on the whole car , replaced & upgraded all the brake calipers and discs/rotors & pads , & subsequently fitted larger wheels. replaced the centre console and lower dash panel & steering cowl , refurbished the nardi & knob , replaced the drivers seat, overhauled the entire cooling system , installed a rear foglight (uk compliant) swapped the rear wing and binned the roof scoop..... and had a full respray. There's other things I've done , the list is long . I've used the car for cars n coffee , subaru club runs & meets and shows & have been on the track at bishopscourt . And I've approx Ā£6000 of handling mods to go on, full whiteline range , kyb agx/eibach suspension & sti pink trailing arms. but that is all part of the second stage of life with this 30 year old jdm subaru

@Bob Bobson sold most parts to fund the car , the only parts I couldn't sell were broken bits (steering cowl & lower dash panel)
