My family visiting from Spain mentioned that here in Charleston, SC, USA where summer is arriving and rain is plentiful, we ought to have a wider range of words for "green" - perhaps the way Inuit people have multiple options for "snow" depending on whether it is drifting, or falling, or on the ground.... In their Mediterranean biome, green gives way to yellow as the rains cease and the dry season begins. Seeing through their eyes the multitude of shades of green in my neighborhood has been beautiful and inspiring this week.
