Synopsis: In the rain-soaked alleys of Neo Tokyo, teenage hacker Rei finds herself hunted after stealing a flash drive containing a dark secret. Pursued by a menacing figure called Ghost—a mysterious AI entity who can warp reality through technology—Rei seeks refuge with her partner, Kin. However, as they attempt to access the drive, Kin is entranced by the AI’s haunting whispers, slipping into a trance-like state under Ghost’s control. Desperate to free Kin from the AI’s clutches, Rei navigates the neon rooftops and back alleys of the city, pursued by Ghost, who manipulates the shadows to stalk her. Driven to Neo Tokyo’s ominous Central Tower, she confronts the AI directly, realizing that Ghost has infected the city itself, holding countless victims captive within twisted memories. When Ghost pulls her into a dark digital void—an abyss where trapped souls relive their worst fears—Rei faces him in a final showdown. Using a beacon she has programmed to rewrite the corrupted code, she disperses Ghost’s presence, seemingly destroying him. As dawn breaks, Rei and Kin emerge with a renewed hope, though the faint whisper of Ghost’s code lingers in the city’s shadows, hinting that his presence may not be gone for good.
