Jesus as Teacher
In Session 5, Pastor Kim talks about Jesus as a teacher, or a rabbi. It challenged me to ask myself: am I allowing Jesus to teach me? Am I open to his teaching that forms my life and how I relate with God, myself, and others? The flip side of that question is what or who is my rabbi or teacher? I get to choose who or what I learn from and that is a daily decision. Pastor Kim’s explanation makes me excited to dive into the scriptures again with an intention of being taught and formed by Jesus.

John part.1
I love this series. John being one of the more poetic and philosophical perspectives of the Gospel offers deep self-reflection and insight into the essence of Jesus. One of my favorite chapters in the scriptures is John Chapter 1 and I found that Pastor Kim brought a fresh and exciting take to it. Great conversations have come out of studying this with friends and now, I'm looking forward to part 2. I’m curious guys, what are your thoughts on this study so far?

@Juan Espinosa I have only gotten through the first two sessions and already know that Pastor Kim will bring this gospel to life. By the end of the second session I appreciated the way she challenges us to read John and allow the gospel to set the terms. The way Pastor Kim presents John allows me to more clearly see the gospel as another dynamic sign of Jesus’ identity, like the signs contained inside of it. Would love to know what other things you (and others!) have been getting from the series.
Insights & Questions for Exodus
Hi Learning Labs Family! The countdown is on for the first Exodus Q&A and I was wondering if anyone had any insights or questions to share about the Exodus class. I have gotten through the first vid (and get to binge the rest today!) and already appreciate Pastor Andres' insights. The class has made me think and question so much already. I loved the connection between the story contained in Exodus and the life and identity of Israel. It made me think about the ways that my life can be fed by this story the same way it fed Jesus. Also, the question about the location of power posed by Pastor Andres really brought so many things to the surface. Who is in power? What is power in the first place? Those that feared losing their power allowed that fear to push them to enact violence and oppression. What unhealthy and ungodly patterns am I falling into due to fear? There is so much more! Thanks Pastor Andres and looking forward to hearing everyone's insights.

Hi Everyone! I live in Pasadena, California with my wife Jessica. I’m a librarian, not a creator (yet!) but a lover of music, and occasionally enjoy being a Tottenham Hotspur supporter. Looking forward to learning from all of you.
